i wouldn't bother splicing it, i reckon it would be far faster, cleaner and more reliable to replace the cable.
IIRC if the cable gets pinched it will cause fast fans due to SDA and SCL lines on it, so if your splicing it better be a perfect soldering job.
What speed is your ram.
a 2879 would require PC3-8500, Sound like you are use 1333mhz modules which will cause no boot/spinning progress bar for ever and ever.
if you get S0, do you get ALL_SYS_PWRGD?
I notice you mentioned you messed with u1950. if improperly soldered or not working correctly it could cause All S0 but no chime.
What, all the 0201's? they probably got hot enough. I reflowed the both the gmux related chips maybe u9600 and u9650? (sorry, im terrible at giving part numbers, i rarely need to look at a schematic)

When it is running its not for long, the screen freezes and it restarts. Ive also had a couple of kernal panics during boot
Im struggling...
You need to reflash the BIOS with a clean ME region. Someones password unlocked it or swapped a BIOS chip for some reason or other, but not bothere cleaning up the intel ME region
Why are you measuring at the fuse? All that tells you is if the fuse is good or not, not that its not boosting. It sounds to me like the board may not be posting? Whats your LCD Enable voltage? Have you tried an external display?
Did you jump the resistor? was it meant to be 0Ohm?
Anyhow the...
I was being silly with the reason i posted, there was a stray solder ball that worked into the pins (i always remove serial number stickers before rework)
Ive only had it happen 4 times
firstly on my own mac mini. Like wtf, cant be ram slot solder, one dropped out and the other then did a few...
Hi, Been a while since i last posted.
On some 2915's i do the GPU on i have experienced ram slot failure (usually the top slot)
Ive been wondering if this is something that is resolveable.
Part of me thinks its CPU ball related, but other clues suggest the slot itself.
Its an iritating...
