Its impossible to measure Q3100 in circuit. No space around the IC at all :(
it would be risky to pbypass the q3100 (inrush protection) wouldn't it?
With Q3100 removed UPC_XA_GATE2 is 14.9v
UPC_XA_GATE1 is 1.7V
Good luck, at this point im going to leave it to duke and the rest of the forum. could well be a knocked of component somewhere but without it in front of me i cant really dig any deeper.
not really. Gmux's very rarely fail though, just like SMC's they are programmed for boards as well so youd need to pull for a 2850 board. please do check the entire board under a microscope and check out every little trace/probe point/sign of corrosion before wasting your time.
Im not 100% sure, was missing a resistor that i think i removed and then forgot about. Was liquid damaged and a resistor failed, the other was unchecked and i just removed it because it was corroded garbage right near the liquid damage spot.
This is becoming a pain in the arse.
0.8V on this board would suggest it chimes.
Do a PRAM reset and see if it chimes.
Rule out bad audio by removing ram and seeing if it beeps.
We really need to know if this is posting, if it is, youre on the lines of a bad gpu or a bad gmux.
Yes, i was getting confused. Duke needs an easily recognisable avatar or something ;)
You need a signal on pins 5 and 2 of q9807, that creates a voltage divider out of R9808 and r9809. Whats the resistance between pins 3 and 4 of Q9806?
Its more likely that youre looking at the complete wrong...
Okay, thanks, im assuming Chip DEV_ID would be stored not only in the video bios but the EFI section of the video bios aswell?
Ive learnt allot through the netkas forums, however i am absolutely useless when it goes to doing anything in the EFI part of a video bios.
Apologies, forgot to state i get 15V on PPVBUS_LIO. it just doesnt get gated past Q3100 (unless q3100 is bad, rather than it missing gate signals, which i doubt)
dont heat up the gmux. 99% of the time the edge bonding stuff will mess it all up. gota be reballed unless you can get the edge bonding of cleanly.
and from this point follow dukes instructions anyway, i completely missed that its missing voltage at L9000
Right
Keyboard only occasionally works in boot menu
Trackpad Jumpy as hell in boot menu
Keyboard and trackpad work in OSX perfectly.
Since installing an SSD and re-running diagnosis it just gives the generic 'there may be a problem with your SMC'
If your LVDS connector, cable and screen are all fine then you can probably assume the missing backlight is down to bad joints under u9600. Gmux will probably need reballing. what does LVDS_BKL_PWM_RC measure?
Was it liquid damaged? based on the 'nasty stuff' you may also want to check around...
Get a ram slot tester card from china and see what it does? :)
Would be interested too see. Id say if tis sandybridge or ivybridge maybe the memory controller on the CPU is dead.
If you dont want to wait i have a tester i havent had chance to use yet, and im only 10 minutes away :)
R7860 or R7862. Essentially the plan is to brick an S0 rail to find out if it still pulses or actually remains on.
Ive had similar symtoms to what your getting caused by U7400 going bad before. No liquid.ect
I find the fastest way to diagnose these strange issues is by breaking power rails...
They are compatible, However i think the 2013/14 model is slightly less capacity or something. Anyhow what i can tell you is a 2015 board charges a 2013 battery just fine.
