- Bad battery... I measured 0 V both methods. (making a short and directly on the J7050.)
- On the Battery pcb circuit (under the sticker) i measured 12V. it seems that the battery circuit is not ok.
I will order a new battery today.
Can a problem on logic board cause a battery failure?
- My initial problem was a short on the P3V42_G3H.
- I injected 2.V 500mA on P3V42_G3H and the short gone (very quickly).
- I worked normally with the computer and the battery was charging normally.
- After Some days the short on P3V42_G3H returned.
- I injected 2V 500mA on the P3V42_G3H...
Do you know any good chaman? :)
I already ordered the replacement parts and should receive it in the next few days. My question as related with some additional measurements in order to detect the culprit!

I replaced the resistor and the board is already booting. Do you suggest replace the caps?
Now i'm facing the original problem (battery 78% but not charging)

Today, after working normally with the computer (the battery charging problem is not solved yet as I'm waiting for the components) the computer stopped working (no green or orange light).
I inspected the board and now i have found a new problem. The R7020 failed. Can it be related with the...
Hi,
R7050 - 10k
R7005 - 10 ohm
SCL/SDA liines are SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA?
If yes,
Measured at D7050:
SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA -> OL
SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SCL -> OL
With the battery connected 0V on each.
The battery is ok. (I tested in another mac)
Hi,
I'm a newbie trying to repair my own laptop.
