I'll come back to you on this.
I'll come back to you on this.
With black to ground this is open (checked on pin 2 of F7140)...
I've got a 820-3476 which is only showing 1v on PPBUS_G3H and about 300 ohms to ground.
There was corrosion around R1410 and R1617 which I've cleaned up and repaired during my first pass over the board, but apart from that it's clean with no other visible issues.
Pulled F7140 and showing 12.7v...
The board is completely stripped from the machine, nothing attached. I?ve swapped for a known good IO board and flex, and I?ve tried it on a genuine charger.
History
Board came in no-power with minor corrosion on C1930 and R1931. Replaced both as part of the initial clean up pass. No other signs of any corrosion/junk anywhere else.
Symptoms
Board behaves, randomly, in different ways when power is applied.
1) Powers on drawing either 0.180, 0.200...
I can't detect anything at all, but that might just be the tools I have access to not being quick enough so I can't be 100%.
PPVRTC_G3H - 3.33v
PCH_CLK32K_RTCX1 - 0.37v
PCH_SRTCRST_L @ 3.33v
RTC_RESET_L - 0.00v
3.24v & 3.41v
Re-tested PM_BATLOW_L from a different point with the DC supply and it's fine, it's at 3.3v. I was testing on Q3000 and I think the contact point was too fine for a reliable multimeter probe connection. Apologies.
- It's a genuine cable, which I thought was what was important
- It's not been an issue before
- At least two other 820-00165 boards this week alone and they've worked fine with this setup
- I don't want shitty boards killing ?79 genuine chargers
But now that I know there's the potential for...
Replaced R7545 and C7524 to no affect (though certainly R7545 did need replacing.
Yes, 0.03v
Doesn't appear to. I notice a tiny fluctuation in the power supply draw, 0.79 becomes 0.80 and then drops again.
Original genuine MagSafe 2 cable on a DC power supply. No discernible difference...
Apologies if this turns out to be something really stupid, I'm operating on not a lot of sleep here.
I've got a 820-00165 that came in, no power. The board is immaculate, I've been over it several times and no signs of any corrosion at all, anywhere.
