I had the same problem with an A1989 and it turned out to be a faulty touchbar - if your touchbar isn't working then i'd try and unplug it then see if it'll let you load the OS. If your successful a replacement touchbar will be required.

I just had the exact same issue on A1989 - a faulty touchbar caused the issue - try to disconnect it and then reinstall the OS.

As a final update to this turns out the problem was the touchbar - it was not lighting up and after replacing it with a new one the machine no longer reboots and works normally.

Diagnostics run - no issues found. The machine is randomly turning off and rebooting however - guess i'll take the board out and inspect it under the microscope.

Well this story at least has a good ending - I tried the revive on another Macbook - Apple configurator said it needed an update which I said yes to - it closed Apple configurator then offered the revive or restore through Finder. I chose Revive on finder and this time it went all the way...

ISL9240 does not work there can confirm. Received my order of RAA489900A6 from China this morning - fitted one and board is now working perfectly!

Confirmed still low without c5275 and c5277. Pulled u5200 which cleared the bad reading completely. Any good source for U5200? I cant use ISL9240 from the older boards right?

Diode mode of VDDP = 0.091 - seems a bit low to me but it's not shorted to ground totally Diode mode of VDDA = 0.088 - also seems a bit low R5275 and R5276 testing good. Done a bit more digging and I think the problem looks to be on VDDA given that resistance at pin 1 of R5275 151Ohms to ground...

Presuming you mean c5252 - theres no voltage there with F5200 removed. Reading 0.1v Diode mode on PPBUS_AON is 0.515, resistance to ground 10MOHm
