After replacing all four NANDs with known good ones, I was able to successfully restore the device via DFU (using Finder, not Apple Configurator 2).
Note:
The logic board was installed in the housing.
A power cable (external charger, not a USB port from another MacBook) was connected.
NAND...
Maybe Firmware related? SPI_NOR?
Edit:
I have removed UN100 and UN300, power cycling stopped - so maybe bad soldering job (blame on me) or one of the NANDs is faulty as well ….
I have checked those pages and compared them to the donor board (from which I pulled the NANDs). Both boards now look identical, except for the missing NANDs on the donor board. What am I missing? What else should I check?
What about the power cycle topic? It's still occurring.
Furthermore I...
The NAND pages show some configuration resistors at the bottom. Where do you see them? Are you referring to the ‘Board Rev’ table? (Page 152)
Furthermore, I have checked page 108—RP003, RP004, RP005, RP010, RP011, RP012, and RP013 are also present on the donor board, even though they are only...
It seems like the board was ultrasonically cleaned due to water damage.
Yes, the battery is good, and I have also tested it without the battery.
I noticed that this MacBook had five NAND chips (UN000, UN100, UN200, UN300, and UN500), which seems unusual for a 512GB model, doesn’t it?
(Edit: In...
Hi,
I have an A2442 (820-02098 / MacBook Pro 14 M1 Pro) that is power cycling every 3 seconds.
The USB-C meter shows the following sequence:
• 5V (PPBUS_AON = 12.26V)
• 19V (PPBUS_AON = 11.96V)
• Power cycling occurs (PPBUS_AON = 6V), and the cycle restarts.
I have noticed that...
Hi,
I have an A2337 (820-02016) which is draining the battery while it is sleep mode. (Like 20-30% during the night)
Note:
- Battery has 100% health, so basically new.
I have compared the AC2 restore logs with a working one ….
Working one:
[19:22:57.1704] Finished Recovery Restore Phase: Successful
[19:22:58.7522] Recovery mode device disconnected
[19:22:58.7522] Device removed when in state Restoring, moving device to transition state
[19:22:58.7522]...
I’m able to see the “restore screen” on the Mac but it’s not possible to restore it via AC2 (DFU) - ends always with error message 4014.
Battery is charging, so I think the CDs are fine.
Yeah I have checked it on F5200.
I have also the restore logs from finder (macOS Sonoma).
[19:53:17.6214]...
I have replaced both CDs. (Took them from an A2337 donor board with correct order)
Any idea what else can cause the low PPBUS_AON?
Are the CDs paired to the logic board?
No, which lines should I check? (Hint needed)
