Without the LIO flex cable connected the fan is not spinning at all.. I gave it its time; nothing.. I probed around; nothing. I started measuring for voltages; PPBUS = 8.6v RTC = 3.3v PP5V_S5 = 5V PP5v_S4 = not there. diode mode 0.440 PM_SLP_S4_L not there. diode more 0.500

No USB Activity, sadly. The computer is behaving weirdly I'm going to describe it as much as I can: A normal bare board power on behavior for 820-00165 when you plug in the MagSafe charger should be a take a few seconds to turn on the fan then a continuous fan spin remains. This board is...

    Those voltage readings are with a known-good I/o and known cable whilst computer is awake SPKRAMP_INT_L = 1.8v AUD_PWR_EN = 1.8v CODEC_WAKE_L = 1.78v CODEC_INT_L = 1.78v CODEC_RESET_L = 1.8v CODEC_INT_L means Codec will initiates when the line is low, correct? but the line is not low...

Came in for liquid damage on Right I/O experiencing no Audio at all; Mic is working, output is shown in system settings, audio jack working OK. Tried known-good Right I/O with good known speakers with good cable and still issue is not resolved Tried DFU and restore with fresh macOS; still...

@ajdoc hi I would like to have an update on what exactly was wrong in your case? cause I currently have an exact issue of yours.

Yes; turns on out of case. PLT_RESET_L is 3.3v USB mouse turns on the laser

Yes I use an original MagSafe 2 charger. When the fan spins yes CPU core voltages are there.

Fuse replaced; still behaving the same.. I really cannot rely on voltage readings because when I start probing around.. PPBUS or 3v3_S4 or anything the fan spins.. So I took the diode mode readings of all power rails and it all seems to fit with 1. FlexBV (although my readings were higher in all...

I’ll do that tomorrow. Its weird that its either as simple as just replacing a fuse or an internal failure. question: can i use just a wire instead of F7140 just for testing purposes?

This board came in for no power; PPBUS was shorted, inject 1V and took off the bad cap, which was C7324.. now PPBUS is clear of short. But the board is still not powering on; after visual inspection I found out that had corrosion on pin #2 and #3.. I replaced the chip and the board is still...

    820-02016 A2337 missing backlight

1.8V output from UC120 is there yes. I returned everything except for UC830 which seems to be bad; I measured in diode mode for its readings, the thermal/ground pad was not in continuity with the pin8 of ground.. and on other legs it read OL.

    820-02016 A2337 missing backlight

I made a typo on my previous post "Although PP3V3_S2 is present and UC120 had all of its voltages except for P3V3S2_FB.." I mentioned UC120 but I was speaking about UC710. It's difficult for a technician to go through every post reading and taking notes on all cases of all kinds, that's why...

    820-02016 A2337 missing backlight

    I don't want to sound dumb but what does 3V3_S2 has to do with backlight? 😅 Anyway, I checked RD560 PPBUS = 12V PPBUS_3V3S2_VIN = 12V UD560 had 12V on IN+ and IN-. VS/enable were available too but INA_3V3S2HS_IOUT was 0v I replaced RD560 and UD560 and still not getting INA_3V3S2HS Although...

Hello, This computer firstly was brought in for a no power issue. Visual inspection showed no corrosion whatsoever, but showed one of the CD3217 blown up. After replacing it the computer remained taking 5V on one port and 20V on the other although the CD3217 I took is from an M1 MacBook Pro...

    A2681 820-02862 ALS

I measured the capacitor and it was shorted and the one above it shorted as well. I removed the burnt capacitor and short was gone, noticed there was corrosion under the ALS chip, removed it and cleaned the pads on both sides and now it POSTS successfully.

Hello, I'd like some help to identify the value of the burnt component on the Angle Lid Sensor of A2681 MacBook Air M2. I know that I can get a brand new ALS and move the chip to it but I prefer to repair the current cause I don't have any spare parts for it + don't wanna wait for the part...
