Hi you was right new dc in board and cable cured the charging issue but it has no sound, no chime at start no light in headphone jack, reset pram , what ive checked so far is: u8040 pp1v5_so =1.5v audio enable =3.2v pp1v5_sosw_audio =1.5v u6410 have 5v at pvdd no im getting kinda lost :-(

Hi i have an 820-3662 board with a charging issue, laptop will boot to login screen, shows battery percentage and charging icon but as soon as you enter the password and hit enter the laptop restarts, if i disconect the battery it will boot to os, it will not turn on by battery power either, so...

was afraid you would say it could be cpu but really appreciate your help

Hi just run apple hardware test and it said no problems found, even done the extended testing. Perfect picture all the way through no distortion at all

tried reinstalling os perfect picture until it restarts to finsh loading os then wont boot into os and has distortion on top 1" of screen, looks like someone worked on the board before me as keyboard connector slightly melted and that wasnt me, was like it before i started, anybody got any clues...

Hi Duke thanks for joining in, so are you saying if I'm getting the 5v to the lcd and the backlight chip is enabled (Q7706 ?) then it has to be screen or lcd cable issue ?

im just being stupid not getting a test screen lol, just jumped on ebay and brought broken lid assy but still displays an image for £25 inc delivery, should have done that in the first place instead of using guess work :-) , thanks for the help though but guess i should wait until it turns up...

already changed the lcd connector just incase , just really didnt want to buy a screen assy just to test it :-(, wondered if i was missing the obvious
