Hey guys, very upset on this one. I checked fuse - got excited for the one time fuse was screwed so i thought oh wow - easy repair for once. changed fuse - next minute smoke coming out of lcd connector :( what do you think caused it - should i try again with new fuse and connector?

Hey all - very small corrosion around u6990 and j5100. Replaced u6990 i get no green light but pp3v42_g3h is present @ 3.43v ppbus_g3h 8.24v ppvrtc 3.34v smc_bc_acok 3.3v smc_reset_l 3.3v pp5v_SUS 0v pp5v_S5 0v and also no s5_pwrgd

No on this one trackpad is working but customer claims not working I been pulling my hair out trying to find why it wouldnt be working but so far after 3 days its always been working.

chime is present. found crap under u4820/4830 flux reflow. I will try new trackpad & keybaord.

yeh i feel that way - i had this machine for 3 days now and yet to see trackpad not working? :rolleyes:

this one has been wd for few years back. it was apparantly cleaned with IPA. I inspected board everything looks good except C7900/7901 both had ends missing. The two ppbus_g3h probe points were absolutely eaten away. when i poked them they just crumbled away. One of the sells is also swallon...

It doesn't always boot from USB and sad always chime Pram done Can always access boot menu Sometimes takes veryyy long to boot.

Strange. No sign of liquid or drop damage Customer says it occassionally doesn't boot Soemtimes don't wake up from sleep occasionally wakes up to prohibiting sign. I suspected ssd so i try to boot from external USB. It didn't work. I tried another good working ssd it booted to osx I tried...

Keyboard always works even on OSX Trackpad issue is sometime in OSX Could this one be software related. Seen a lot of threads about track pad not working or becoming unresponsive on Mojave.

yes just tested in boot menu after few second trackpad its active. any ideas? also yes keyboard working.

yes open it measured like 4million ohm:p wasnt chiming too but after few resets it came back so happy little macbook

No sign of liquid machine is very clean. i tried to close lid - put in sleep mode to see if problem will reoccur. I will try boot menu and yes osx.

found out it was r7821 - shorted i replaced it everything is working so far. will run asd and see if everything pass. i got fan spin and chime.

Hey guys. Good news, got it working hard short on ppvout_s0_blt injected voltage and found c7760 was short. changed that still didnt have voltage coming through d7710 changed that too problem solved now working thanks guys
