Hi,
Board = 820-3476-A
I've been reading backlight sticky post and looking at potential failure using the two pics with all failure listed but I can't fix that one.
There's no backlight, I see apple logo and login window if I apply light to the lid.
U8300 PIN1 = 5.14V
PIN 2 = 0V
PIN 4 = 5.14...
Thank you. I did read the post before but I didn't solder wire, maybe I should have started with that instead of tweezer. Now I've solder a wire, when I connect to GND quickly, PM_PWRBTN_L drop to 0.3 and iMac boot. I've placed B2032 back. iMac is working correctly. Thank you for your help.
With BR2032 - Doesn't boot, even if I remove power cords.
Without BR2023 - It boot but need to remove power cords for 15 secondes after proper shutdown.
Fans always full speed on.
Hello,
Customer said iMac stopped booting. She's not using it a lot. Last week, she wanted to turn it on... no sign of life. She went to Apple, they said it's dead...need to buy a new one.
I remove the screen, I can see led 1 on. I tried to bypass power button, doesn't help, SMC reset...
Hello
It took me a while to successfuly write ROM as I was always getting error during the process. I finally manage to do it and that fix the problem.
thank you very much for your assistance and patience. All the best for 2023.
Thanks
Sam
Hello again. I got the Medusa. ROM is ok, I can read it, i can see hostname, language, version... so it looks ok.
USB tester is red, doesn't flash green.
Any idea what else I could try ?
Thank you. I've check all traces are ok, can't find the culprint.
what is J6100 connector for ? There's nothing connected to it.
So I should try the BIOS path then ?
Customer said he tried to power it on last week, didn't work... he tried the day after and it worked and there was a message to...
thanks. I don't have another 820-4924-A to test BIOS. Can I take from other board ? Is there any compatibility to check.
I have a flash reader, I can unsolder the BIOS to make sure it reads correctly.
I've checked those resistors, they are ok.
R6110 ok 22 ohm SPI_CS0_R_L
R6111 ok 22 ohm...
thank you. not sure what's going on.
i've measure again, first time I had 0V on 3 & 7 and 3 min after I had 3.42V. Now it's stable, 3.42V on test point.
If I want to test it, I only need to connect screen connector and magsafe, right ? I did it.. still nothing.
