Yes, indeed i ve found a connector on the LCD PCB that has no cable connected to it. I am not sure if this what you mean with temperature sensing. Here bellow a photo of it. I could found a substitute cable that fit this connector, but where I couldn't find on the board where it should...
Pin 1 and 2 of the lcd connector were burned because of the short also the cable connecting the board to the lcd panel. Like i ve said i resolderd a new connector and changed the cable with a new one.

But there should be a way; a signal coming at the LVDS connector or from the LCD to the SMC for example that can confirm this problem, I presume.

By measuring the coil L7630 I found it short also on pin2 side.
