Hi,
I have that board which apparently had a tiny little liquid damage around U5580, R7237 and Q7321 (GND side).
-U5580 had a corroded pin 3 which was fixed and chip was replaced.
- R7237 wasn't replaced at it does measure fine. I have just re-applied some solder on each side of it.
- Q7321...
I already did put 4 pictures a while ago. Yes that area has been abused, mostly by corrosion.
I did, like you advised, check every single resistor value, even replacing them all + checking the continuity from any signals going to U6100 and U6101 and I got them.
Now I am seriously thinking I am...
That was already enabled. I've replaced every single resistor next to the Bios chip but same behavior.
It quarter fan spins.
Duke, do you believe it could be something other than the Bios area?
I am getting .4A once I plug the charger which makes the quarter fan spin, then simple pulse on...
Hi,
I have that board with an important liquid damage near U9701 and a slight one near U7201.
The board has quarter fan spin.
When the charger is plugged, PPBUS_G3H will come and then drop.
I've checked the current sensing resistors which measure fine.
I did reflow both areas and replaced...
I am bringing that post back to life.
I have kept that board for the rainy days...
I have already replaced U2800 which was mistake cause most likely it wasn't the issue.
Now I am getting no picture at all.
Luckily, I've seen Louis Live stream a few days ago and he have had a Thunderbolt issue...
Well I did put back every part into places and for some reasons the short was gone.
I just can't explain it. However funny thing is I've tried to measure the voltage drop to ground on another board and it was also .1V on this rail...
Anyway, solved!
Well I haven't re-solder the components I did remove yet. I am trying to solve the partial short first.
Are you saying that the partial short is not the cause of the problem?
Hi,
We have that MacBook Pro 13" 2012 which came in as the customer was complaining about a slow Mac.
As usual on these machines, I did blame first the SATA cable but it was fine.
Drive did test fine too...
Opening the case we could clearly see a blown capacitor (C6603)
Voltage drop to ground...
Too bad.I won't be able to try that.
Customer got the computer back cause she couldn't wait.
+ she already complained to Apple and will get a new LB since this replaced one failed after 6 months...
I did however spread some alcohol on the caps at the time but none would make alcohol...
Actually we've found PP3V3_PMICLDO to be shorted.
Since the PMIC is getting hot, I believe I should not chase any capacitor on this line right?!
Is the PMIC a painful replacement or straight forward?
The customer brought us her MacBook Pro 13" Touchbar from 2016, not turning on.
She said the computer was working fine yesterday when suddenly it did shutdown.
History of that computer: Mainboard (HD says the customer) was replaced. She lost all her data. So I assume mainboard was replaced...
Hello,
We have that MacBook A1534 board from 2015 which shows no picture on the screen sometimes.
We have tried on both the customer screen and our known working screen but the same thing is happening.
PPVCC_S0_CPU is 1.7V and board is getting hot.
EDP_PANEL_PWR is a flat 0V (unless screen...
