u8300 pin1 was tricky, seemed soldered, but it was not, i scratched the pcb and soldered it to the incoming trace, now display works but sometimes the backlight is vibrating
smc_lid works, it is 3.3V, measured on r5250, if i move a magnet close to it voltage drops to zero, magnet moved away 3.3V comes back
now i replaced the area around lcd connectot, all component looked bad, u8300, l8300, and caps around them
same, still boots on external monitor so cpu has to...
l8300 has 5v on it after 3 sec of connecting the charger cable, then in few seconds that goes away
does it mean it tries to recognise the lcd but cant? its doing the same thing with another lcd

PPVCC_S0_CPU jumps up to 1.8v, and a second later again, then nothing, on L7320 i measure 16ohm without removing the coil
ALL_SYS_PWRGD jumps to3.3V, then 3 seconds later again, then dies
in smc bypass mode at least the fan spins twice, but the measured voltages are the same
dont see any water damaged, but anyway i cleaned it properly
first it did not have any voltages, not even 3.4V, after taking it apart and just testing it on the table now it has green light, 3.4V, 8.59V, 3.3V
most of the time fan wont spin, but sometimes it goes in a loop, fan spins a bit...
Hi everyone,
Could you please share some good suppliers for those retina screens A1706/A1708. I had tried some from aliexpress but unfortunately a few come back with lines no physical damages.. they are just dying after time with no reason.. it could be also a flex because it looks like this...
so it turned out the new battery somehow killed the that part of the smc and the battery indicator light, and eventually the u7000
so i replaced the u7000 then the smc, and just not connect the BIL (who needs that), and it works fine now
battery connector pin 6 is 0.14v in diode mode, black probe on gnd, 0.4V only
pin 4 is 1.14V, and that has 3.3v
removed the protection diode d6950, same, something pulling down the line
smc reset, and pram reset works
i had to reball the smc a few time on these a1278 macbook, could it be the smc, the customer mentioned saw spark when he replaced the battery
