Got an 820-3437 Air on the desk which was turning on intermittently. U1930, C1930 and R1931 were corroded. Replaced and unit is booting but does not see serial number. SPI traces all good.
I ordered and replaced the EFI chip which was meant to be pre programmed but still have the same issue. I...
Hi everyone, got an 820-00281-10 on my desk that has no signs of corrosion or liquid damahe and was told it just died one day.
I started out getting 20v on the charger but not drawing anything.
I then found that I had all S5 rails and S5_PWRGD but no PM_SLP_S5_L. I found that PP3V0_G3H was only...
Those 3 pins being soldered together isn't an issue as they are all connected. I would run a decent gauge wire from pin 38,39 and 40 to somewhere like C9797, C9799 or C9000. What voltage are you getting on L9701?
Ah right, I got you now. Yeah that sounds like a pain in the ass. I kinda wrote off the cam after I got to the conclusion of U3900 anyway but this just sort of cements the decision!
Only joined today and already this is a great forum!
Thanks for the info. Can I ask what makes it a bitch to replace? I can see the chip is thicker than other ones but is it a problem with pulling pads? multilayered BGA chip like the iPhone compass IC?
Thanks again guys!
Are you getting PP5V_S5?
L7520 seems to be powered by PP5V_S4RS3. If PP5V_S5 is missing then I dont think you would get P5VS4RS3 Have you checked the P5VS4RS3_EN on U7501?
I've only had a quick glance so I may be reading it completely wrong.
Wouldn't it be easier to just replace it or are there different factors at play here? Kind of frustrating that this is the last issue and everything else is working great now.:(
Hi,
I've got an 820-3437-B that won't recognize the iSight camera. Board was liquid damaged and had no backlight, no battery charge, wouldn't run on battery etc.
Fixed everything except this last issue. Checking U3900, PP0V675, PP1v8_CAM, PP1v35_CAM and PP1V2_CAM are all present during boot...
