He claims he was using it and seen a wisp of smoke and it stopped working. I see zero evidence of water.
Other3V3, S4_X239, S4_tpad, PP3v3_S5 all pulse. PP3V3_S4 pulses very very low. I think the VCORE was zero.
I see nothing burnt out. Tried new DCIN, and new battery as well.
I'm guessing I may have had on crooked or something and blew this bad boy out. I'll try a new cable and refurbish it with a new LCD. Otherwise, this bad boy is working now - SOLVED : )
I don't understand how a good screen could work and then not work. I don't see any damage to cable or connector. I do work with the battery disconnected of course. I've changed many of bare LCD's without issues and many lids also. Never seen one up and die like this. There was no liquid around...
LOL. Not sure what that means, but thank you : )
But ya, after a new screen its the same. So its not the screen, I even tried a new cable.
Thank you again !
A1268 customer brought in with exact same issue of distorted screen (minus the vertical bars), placed on new screen and same effect, except with vertical bars on the new screen.
Have you guys experienced this? Did I damage the LCD on install or is it a known board issue?
On this particular phone I'm working on right now, yes I see the IMEI.
Could you elaborate on these jumpers you were talking about?
How can you test if the baseband CPU is faulty? Can it be done with these test points? They test them in the factory some how I imagine, right?
Checked with flash light. There is no image.
At first there was a fully bright working screen with image, then the backlight went out, then the image went out. Still dongs. I need to test with a good know screen first I imagine and external monitor. I will be trying these things next opportunity.
