    HP Board chip ID.

    If this is the wrong section, please move the post. A shop gave me an HP board which went dead when they were replacing a broken screen. I found a 2.2Ohm resistor which was burnt out so checked in diode mode to ground and found it to be almost a dead short. When I put some current on the...

    [SOLVED]820-4924 - No backlight or picture.

    Tiny liquid spill directly on U8330 and R8310. Replaced both, but no change. Seems EDP_BLKT_EN becomes unstable once it posts.

    OK. Resoldered U7100 and both current sense resistors and now the resistance between 27/28 is 20.1Ohms. PPBus @ R7005 is still 4.8volts.

    98.5 Ohms. I know it should be 20Ohms, did I maybe grab a damaged U7100?

    [SOLVED]820-3437 - No green light.

    Now that I look really closely I can actually see residue up the one side of the SMC and going under it. :( Will keep till I get a stencil for it. Thanks Duke.

    Absolutely nothing. But you did tell me to measure around U7100. I'm more concerned about the missing PPBus. That would be the first thing to restore before anything else right?

    R7102::1 = 16.6v R7102::2 = 6.7v Could this be a faulty U7100?
