    820-00430 No Power

Got a bit of a strange one here 820-00430 iMac 21.5" Logic Board. We have replaced the PSU in this iMac previously a few months back but it has been brought back in with no power - no lights on the logic board but the PSU is outputting 11.85V and PP12V_G3H is present. PP12V_S5 is not however...

    820-2850-A Won't start

Right i've replaced the ISL again with another new chip and it's now making PPBUS and starts! The machine does however have another issue - when I disconnect the charger and reconnect it then the light comes orange on the charger but it doesn't start to charge the battery. If I SMC reset the...

    820-2850-A Won't start

Got an 820-2850-A board in last week which the customer told me was intermittently not charging. Was no green light on it at all. Found a problem with the ISL6259 (DCIN Pin3 was 3ohm short to ground when ISL6259 was on board) which i've replaced and now getting the green light but it still wont...

    A1534 2015 SSD Not Writable

Got an A1534 2015 edition with 250gb SSD and whilst the SSD is detected in internet recovery and also in my test external ssd with mac os it's reading as read-only and I cannot erase it, format it or partition it. I'm presuming this is a dead SSD and assuming this is there any possibility of...

    820-01521 Water Damage No Display

So i've got an 820-01521 in today from a Macbook Air which was water damaged. Fixed the short on ppbus which was preventing it from turning on, it switches on now and works on external display but nothing on the internal screen. The LCD connector is clean and no sign of liquid there however Pin...

    820-01700 U5450

As a further update to this I couldn't find any on the boards I had. I've tried NCS214 which does work just the same and I also had to replace U5410 which I replaced with NCS210. So for future reference you can replace INA214A with NCS214 and INA210A with NCS210 providing you buy the correct...

    820-01700 U5450

I'll have to have a look through them - I think I only have one post 2016 scrap board which was from a non touchbar 13 inch. I'm guessing the non type c boards are a no go? I've got a fair few 820-00165, 820-3437 and 820-4924 boards. This is the first 16 inch one i'm seeing - you gotta love...

    820-01700 U5450

So today I received in an 820-01700 from a Macbook 16". Is liquid damaged but only in a small area of the board around U8400. I've found U5450 is completely burned to the point that even the traces on the board aren't there and will need to be repaired. That being said does anyone know where I...

Gave up with this and got the customer another motherboard for $150.

    820-3302 Wont start

there is no USB activity in SMC Bypass mode = also no display and no more diagnostic LED's light up. I'm getting 15v on the gate pin of Q7950 (tested at U7950) and yes there is stable PP12V_S0 in smc bypass mode.

    820-3302 Wont start

Actually I don't think it's Q7950 - I did try the SMC bypass mode and got the fan spinning on full and the voltage output of Q7950 was 12.2v on PP12V_S0 - that should indicate Q7950 is working?

    820-3302 Wont start

I can try that but I cannot find IRF6892 from a reputable supplier - is there an alternative available?

    820-3302 Wont start

Got an 820-3302 today - won't start up - there is one green diagnostic led - when I press the power button the fan spins a little then stops - no activity on any other diagnostic led's that I can see. Nothing immediately visible i'm wondering if this points to a PSU issue?

    820-00165 green light no power

Thought i'd chip in here as i've been trolled by these before - if either U7100 or Q7130 has or had a fault they will tend to burn the other one. So if you had a short on U7100 then you need to replace Q7130, if you replaced U7100 without replacing Q7130 you have probably killed the new U7100...

    820-3787-A shutting down

Just to report back on this for future reference - FDMF3030 works fine as replacement for the original FDMF6708N recommendation. Got mine from mouser!
