Hi, after a bit of a break from board repair due to personal reasons im back at it again! I bought this A1502 13" late 2013 retina which has a super weird issue! It works just fine for a while but after like 30 minutes it cuts out and sometimes won't power up until you let it sit for a while. I...
Back to this old thread after over a month. Got a replacement U1950 in, made no difference. Also tested the original one on a known booting board and it worked. Any other ideas on what I can try?
Hi, have this 820-3462A A1425 2012 13" Retina Board that used to have a shorted SMC. Well I finally tracked one down an replaced it. Board still won't work though. It does have the orange light (so 3V42 definitely working) and PPBUS_G3H is normal. Any suggesting? Which rails should I post?
Hi, have a question. Is there anything theoretically possible to fix a1534 MacBook 12" Units with failed SSDs. I mean you can fix failed iPhone NANDs by replacing them and reprogramming the new one. Something similar possible here?
Did some testing:
- Disconnecting J6955 makes no difference
- It doesn’t turn on with just a charger, however disconnecting the battery after it powered on causes it to continue working off the charger
- PPBUS_G3H with the charger only and the machine off is 12.62V
- Requested U7000 Voltages...

Yup it sure is. There must be some massive short here because the power supply output is dragged down to about 5v with a current draw of the maximum 5A.... Cleaning it did nothing it still smokes like crazy whenever I apply power. Also no more green light...
Oh sorry I thought I posted those too guess I accidentally deleted the post instead of posting it or something like that... But tbh I don't think the other Voltages will be required. Upon plugging in the Charger with the DC Supply it went green and then orange before literally burning a hole in...
The drive isn’t APFS as it’s running Mavericks. None of the resistors were physically damaged or gave non nominal readings. same for the new ones. Don’t have any history on the machine. I did boot a copy of Catalina from usb and it didn’t recognize the disk.
