Not yet, I do not have a programmer ATM so I was not able to. In the order of purchasing the roms, I also purchased a programmer. Also saw chipsetpro offer A u2980 programmer, are they any good? Might get one of those as well.
After the board numbers they usually have a dash something do we know what that denotes? I'm assuming probably a region designation. I did get a 820-00840-A donor board today, but the board I need a rom for is 820-00840-1. Does that matter? I've ordered some TBT roms from our local electronics...
Just checked the voltages on the no stuff caps as well as I noticed in another post last year you requested those.
C3120 pad 1: 5.12v / pad 2: 4.19V
C3121 pad 1: 4.56v dips to 4.31 than back up
pad 2: 8.36 fluctuates all over the place quite rapidly. Lowest value was 6.35v.
C3220 pad 1: 5.16v...
Ah didn’t know that, thanks. I assumed that since these have a master and a slave CD, since the slave has to communicate through the master to the rom chip, that the masters ldo would be present when using its port but not the slaves, but when using the slaves port both would be present.
No I...
Hi All.
Just wanted to see if I can get some assistance with a A1708 I'm working on. Board while looking clean had it's liquid marker tripped by U2890. Board started off as fluctuating between 0.0157A @ 5.1762V to 0.0132A - 5.1751V 0.190A. Went through and checked the CD3215 bootup table on...
Removed F7000 and I have a steady 12.26V @ C7050. Boards no longer shutting off either, fluctuates between 0.0109A and 0.0090A but never completely shuts off. What should the resistance to ground be for PP3V3_G3H? I'm getting 38 ohm or 0.025 for C7612. There must be a short with the internal...
Ppvin_g3h_p3v3g3hrtc_r at c6906 is fluctuating a lot between 12v, 9v, 11v constantly till it shuts down. Nothing reads short though, every component on that line reads .391 diode mode. Is it worth replacing the tps again?
Before finishing up yesterday I decided to take a closer look at the isl. I noticed once I sprayed a little ipa over it there seemed to be a heartbeat coming from it. I removed it and found the CHGR_CSO_P pad 4 had been burned away leaving a slight crater.
I replaced the pad with the relife...
Sorry for the extended delay my tps took forever to arrive. I’ve confirmed the surrounding components are fine and replaced the tps. What voltage should PPvin_g3h_p3v3g3hrtc_r be? I’m getting 12.26 once connecting the charger than dips to zero as the board stops drawing current.
Thanks for the clarification on pPbus. I was worried about that, T2 likely being bad. No voltage at c6912 was not present.
BTW P3v3g3hrtc_ss was the line I was referring to in my above post where I mentioned I didn’t have the schematic with me so I couldn’t post the correct name. That’s not...
Hi all,
just wanted to get some assistance on another 820-01598 I bought last week. Boards spotless no liquid damage everything looks pristine. Boards stuck at 5v 0.0180A pretty consistently on both ports. Battery removed, don’t have a known good as this did not come with one and my ones fully...
Yes C7125 is in place and reading fine. Sorry typed, yes I meant L/Q7130. Everything at the top immediate area of the isl is reading ok as is the left side. I’ll go through the rest tomorrow.
L3170 pin 1 .138 pin 2 .138. Q3170 pin 1 .138. c7125 pin 2 .137. All values are diode mode. Looking around the ISL immediate area will report back once completed, just thought I should do these first as Q3170 was originally the issue so likely is the issue again. Removed C7105 again as it was...
Replaced the TPS51980 as it did look a bit suspect. R7105 is not blowing anymore is it looks like it was R7190 causing the issue. ISL is getting hot now so yay gotta order some more ISLs. This time I'll order more than two....
Ah that explains why the ISLs keep dying then. R7190 has always been there. This was your typical ebay " don't know what's wrong with it we haven't touched it" listing, so they have obviously tried to repair it and saw it was not listed as no stuff and placed it there. Curious that it's not...
No I saw R7113 just thought that line should be higher than that.
I did, I didn't note it down though. When I replaced all the components on the R7105 pin 1 side and replaced the ISL last, I re checked all the components surrounding the ISL on each of the ISL pins to make sure nothing was...
Ok I replaced C7105 and R7105 again and tried the second ISL and same thing again. Pin 1 on R7105 has 16V pin 2 nothing. C7105 nothing on both sides. U7100 pin 1 at the test pad is 5.46V.
Pin 3 is no longer reading short, looks like it was the ISL again causing that though I replaced all 3 on...
Pin 2 on U7100 is 0.449 with C7105 and 0.445 without. Thanks, I'm using 330pf for c7116 till my extra donors arrive. R7105 is reading 23 ohms when it is a 10 ohm resistor and was reading 10 ohms when I installed it which is weird. If it was blown you would expect it to go a lot higher than just...
