820-00138 PPBUS_G3H 5v after repair to current sense

Well Ive got a green light and PPBUS_G3H back to 12.55v and CHGR_ACIN 3.8 Fuses back. Fanspin and drives the screen without shutoff! Many thanks

820-00138 PPBUS_G3H 5v after repair to current sense

I just removed all 3 components attached to pin 3 and still seeing 1 ohm to ground so lifting U7100 right now :)

820-00138 PPBUS_G3H 5v after repair to current sense

I see 3.2 ohms between pins 17,18 so looks fine. PPDCIN_G3H_CHGR is 20v and I can see 200khz waves applying then grounding inductor to produce 5v on rhs. Im seeing 5v on pin 3 from voltage divider although text on schematic suggests it should be 13.55v! ???

820-00138 PPBUS_G3H 5v after repair to current sense

Board came in dead but I found corrosion over U7100s current sense components C7122, C7120 and C7125. Replaced those caps and got fanspin. Connected screen but found during boot power would shut off half way as current draw rose and would then start boot again etc. Suspected C7120 so removed...

    820-00163 no backlight

I assumed the same screen would suit any of the logic boards that might occupy a mid 2015 15inch MacBook Pro e.g. whatever their graphics provision. Is this wrong? If you mean I have a mismatched screen and board - is there a document that would tell me what model MacBook a 820-00163 board...

    820-00163 no backlight

Sorry, what does T-CON mean? Another factor I should have mentioned I am using an 820-00163 to replace a 820-00426. Although I paid for the latter they sent the former. In other words the LCD screen was from an A1398 running with an 820-00426. Ive verified the pinout on the video connector -...

    820-00163 no backlight

Hi, I bought a 'working board' on ebay but seller left heatsink on and a jolt in transit has caused the video connector to be demolished and 8 resistors/capacitors to be wiped off. These are now replaced, I get POST, fan spins and I can see login on the lcd with the aid of a torch but there is...

    820-00840 20v 0.5a no video

Progress at last. That gives me a login screen and I can restart and get it every time :) From reading the forum I assume I need to change SSN somewhere?? with a hex editor [which I assume is the serial number] and fix up checksum (Fsys?) Can this be done without Medusa hardware? What happens...

    820-00840 20v 0.5a no video

Ah ok thanks for setting me straight. Would you have a clean ME region binary I can use to overwrite the dirty one? As I mentioned the EFI repo file I examined MBP141_0178_B00.fd following Piernovs instructional video for this MacBookPro14,1 had no MeRegionUpdateVolume so I could not take its...

    820-00840 20v 0.5a no video

Just managed to borrow another identical board and borrowed the EFI chip. It did boot from the SSD and get to login screen first go. However next few reboots the progress bar sticks at 70% for a long time and didnt proceed even after 15mins wait. This is the same behaviour that this board gave...

    820-00840 20v 0.5a no video

Ive already used ME Analyzer v1.255.0 r226 to examine my logic boards extracted ROM data and I can see the version of ROM is 11.8. My issue is that Piernov's video at 5min45sec is using the UEFITool to examine a file he downloaded from a Github repos ending .scap that is the latest update for...

    820-00840 20v 0.5a no video

I have no other machine at the moment. I am just going to try using your previous suggestion of a 'clean ME' but I didnt know how. I've viewed Piernov's youtube [which I find quite unclear. e.g. at 6min33 why open flash image tool to then drop a file in it and then exit without saving???] but...

820-00426 Replaced three bad FETS with FDMF6708

Is there any way to determine any life in the cpu? Should I see 1.35volts on the output of these FETs at least? After all before I replaced the fets I was seeing 6.66volts on their supply (PP5V_S0) but now the board appears to be in an S5 state! Could you explain a little about whether the cpu...

820-00426 Replaced three bad FETS with FDMF6708

Customer brought in a dead A1398 with no visible corrosion. Inspected it and found one FDMF6808N with a crater - see photo. Replaced it with FDMF6708 but the other two FET were getting hot as well so replaced all three. Noticed prior to changing them that their power rail PP5V_S0 was at 6.6v...

    820-01041 5v 50mA no visible corrosion

DFU would not work as displayed above. As a recap the board is stuck at 5volts, 3 USB ports draw around 50mA and one draws zero. The one drawing zero is the top left (XB) when sat at laptop. Out of interest when I put an oscilloscope on the clock signal of the flash memory I can see the burst...
