After checking the chips off the board it doesn't appear they did. I thought low value I was getting on pin 1 was indicative. Q7180 and DCIN fuse are only things I know for certain were broken to start with.
One of my guys did a battery replacement and after this Mac was getting random enter key presses. After troubleshooting I realized it does it without the KB or TP plugged in too. No signs of anything odd at TP or KB connectors. All pins of connectors are making contact to board. Diode testing...
TRaces all check out and Q7130 pin 1 is 625 and pin 6 is .465 once Q7130 is replaced and before powering board. If I power the board with magsafe only, Pin 1 will be somewhere around .03 range. Could Q7180 cause it to be burning up? I feel like that is the only major change since I started...
This was working off battery only but wouldn't charge. Looked like something was on board that shorted Q7180 to ground pin nearby. REplaced Q7180 U7100 C7125 and DCIN Fuse. I've changed Q7130 4 times now after replacing it short will be gone on pin 1 but if I plug charger in long it will burn...
Ahhhhhh... maybe that's what it was? I harvested off boards with non-charging issues but I will order new. Not worth beating my head against a bench for 3 hours over a $50 board haaha
Well there previously must have been multiple issues remaining but I ended up replacing Q7180 for the 4th time and all is good. Unfortunately I don't know what the other problem that got solved ultimately got the board working. Must've been something that was blowing the Q7180's that I...
Those resistors are good as mentioned and yes, tried different DCIN boards.
Somehow I started getting intermittent board start up on original magsafe charger.
I changed the DCIN Port and Q7080 and Q7010. PPDCIN is consistently 16.8V now but PPBUS G3H is consistently low 1.1V
ISL:
1- 0V
2 -...
This board had liquid damage to the entire area DCIN/3v42 of this board: from C7098,L7095 area through D7012, ALL of those components have been replaced. This board boots from PS input but not from original 85W charger.
On original charger:
PPDCIN_G3H is around 1.5V most of the time
Diode...
This board had liquid damage. It was initially bootlooping but it was wet inside and no noticeable corrosion. USC'd it and dried and day later it booted and ran video/heavy cpu activity on the bench for couple of hours. My tech reinstalled it and now it just chimes once and then no USB activity...
right. Thats why I thought it was SMC. Could this be PCH issue? Yes that is the only error. I've run ASD probably 5 times and Finstack TH1H is only error.
No liquid ingress known. Fans run high. ASD shows TH1H below limit but when I check FINSTACKSNS_ALERT_L, it always reads 3.3V with or without the IO cable connected. I've tried 3 different IO cables and IO boards. DIode reading at pin 21 J9500 = .53. Replaced the SMC twice and checked for...
Yes. Only thing I can think of is a broken trace somewhere but odd to me that it can see the battery and it's cycles, status, and such but just not charging. I've checked traces around iSL wondering if there is a connection that could be missing that would cause these symptoms without throwing...
