The main problem was the system that did not start, giving a critical update error.
There was a lot of oxidation near the U4200 and U3500. I replaced all the components (resistors and capacitor).
It worked well for 2 days, but now it doesn't charge the battery (Mac recognizes the charger) and...
Logic board with no history. But perfect, without oxidation.
There was a short on the PPBus because of the Q7430. Replaced it, board turned on again, but with RAM beeping.
I have 1.35v on PP1V35_S3, but when I test it off, it shows as a short (023.1), in 0.040 diode mode.
I compared it with...
Clean board, stuck at 5v.
I checked the LDOs lines of the CD3215 and everything is normal.
I found a short on the PP3V3_G3H line, trying to find where the short was, the board started working again and the short disappeared. 10 minutes later it stopped working and the short came back.
I...
Very strange board.
Mac arrived dead, but always with 20v. I disassembled it all to check, when I tested it, it worked. The board is perfect. I built the Mac, tested it for 2 days, now it stops working again.
When I don't work on the board for a few minutes and the charger connector, from 20v...
Logic board is perfect, no oxidation.
Recognizes in DFU mode but does not complete (revive and restore)
PPBUS_G3H - 12.30v
PP3V3_G3H_RTC - 3.3v
PP5V_G3S - 0
I checked the U6960
pin 11 - 12.30v
pin 10 - fluctuating between 10 and 11.8v
pin 13 - 5v
pin 5 - 0.8v
changed the U6960, voltages did...
I bought the S-UEM2 device and decided to go back to work on that abandoned mac.
It showed changes in some pins of the UB300 (31, 33, 40, 42), as it had already been changed, I tried to change it again.
I tested removing the CMOS.
Bad U7600 voltages. I'm going to put only the pins that have voltage.
- 4 - 5v
- 5 - 5v
- 6 - 0.3v
- 7 - 0
- 12 - 4v
- 15 - 4.6v
- 17 - 12v
- 18 - 5v
- 24 - 0.5v
I replaced the U7600 and the problem continues. No LEDs.
Device dead, no LED lights up.
I tested with another source and nothing. I have PP12V_S5, but on Q8470 pin 4 (FET_EN_P12V_S5_R) has 10v, so I changed Q8470, but it didn't change pin 4.
I don't have this new component, I removed it from another identical board.
Any tips to find out if the...
After changing Q7260/61, now I have stable 5v on PP5v_s5, L7260 and PP3v3_s5 line! But the board didn't turn on, is it because of the resistors I removed? Can I put it back?
During testing, a short appeared on the U4800, but it wasn't the problem.
I compared in diode mode the L7260 (0.420) and the PP5v_s5 line as well (0.520), both equal to the good board.
I keep the R7911/12/14/78 outside, right?
