I found U4800 heating. Removed it and PP5V_S3 bumped to 0.105V diode mode. Schematics says Critical Omit. Can I start board without it or first replace/check/etc?
Water damage. Cleaned with UC. Checked pins 17/18 and 27/28 at ISL. Changed few resistors and ISL. Fixed Q5300 missing 2 pads and made jumpers for pins 3 and 4.
PP3V42 --- 3.47V
PPBUS ---- 12.59V
PP5V_S5 pulses
PP3V3_S5 pulses
PM_BATLOW_L pulses
SMC_ADAPTER_EN pulses
What could I be missing?
Okay, new 6708 installed. Before it would shut down every hour, now it is already on for several hours without shutting down.
Do you remove CPU heatsink prior to IC's replacement or you leave it on?
"Check S5_PWRGD, PM_DSW_PWRGD, PCH_DSWVRMEN and the 4 RTC signals (page 16)." -- They are all present around 3-3.3V.
"32KHz should come out from U2600 too" -- I don't have an oscilloscope to catch that, but DMM has apparently options to check frequency, which I haven't figured out how to use...
Okay, this board was nasty around U3890 so I put it in through UC (first bath UC, finally). PPBUS was shorted so I removed Q3880 and short was gone. Other stuff should also be replaced, but that can wait I think.
Always present rails are good. PP3V42 and PPBUS are 3.42V and 12.59V.
Then I...
Thank you Duke and everyone else.
Unfortunately, I cannot find anything on this board that could be holding it from booting, unless I go piece by piece by comparing to a known good, which would take time.
I tried to catch some pulse on PM_SLP_S4_L as soon as the charger was connected, but didn't see anything. I tried 3 times.
As for R7202, that is correct. It is not related in PM_SLP_S4_L generation, rather as input voltage for U7200 which releases CPUVR_PGOOD, which goes to U1950, creates...
Not sure. I've downloaded one that's supposed to be "clean" from Ghostlyhaks Forum. Used it already before for other machines, they turned on fine.
I've mounted SSD to it with SATA cable. It loads instantly to 3/4 then goes really slow.
I've done BIOS. No change. I see that SMC area doesn't have glue around, might have been reworked before. That's the only sign that I can see on this board.
The work that has been done on this board is LCD connector replacement. Customer claims it worked before replacement. I don't see any...
