Laptop is like new with only 17 cycles. Shuts off randomly, does not restart on its own. No report.
completely clean and untouched.
Do these have any mosfet issue?
Liquid damage near u7420. Board had a short prior to replacing u7420. Replaced and all seemed good.
When booting it gets half way, the fans spin up fast and it restarts. In safe mode it boots fine. Attaching panic report.
Same after restoring.
I have two of these boards now with the same issues. They crash about 25% into booting. If trackpad is disconnected they will boot fine.
tried both in good cases and they still fail to boot.
Ive seen older posts about this but they weren’t resolved.
Received from someone that attempted to remove EFI lock with a Chip Card. Worked prior but didn't work after install.
Q3730 was knocked off and has been replaced.
ppbus_g3h - 13v
Good until pp3v3_s4 and pp5v_s4 - 0v. No short. (same before q3730 replaced).
p3v3_sus - 3.4v
r7020 - 20v...
No LEDs. I injected to the 12v line and checked with the thermal imager.
Q8450 gets warm. U6920 get hot though. No shorts to ground though.
I'm realizing I don't have any parts for this board though as it's 12v. Can anything from macbook be substituted for these?
If not, any way to confirm...
I've had a few of these lately and always fixed with u4200 clean/reflow/reball. This one had corroded dust near u4200 but cleaning and replacing twice had no change. Clean board otherwise. No ultrasonic yet.
Any other suggestions for this?
No touchbar or keyboard backlight like usual. Boots...
Clean, no corrosion anywhere. Only works if battery cable (j6951) is disconnected. When connected it draws up to 4a and no life but fans do spin. Caps light doesnt work this way. Disconnect the cable and it works fine with or without screw.
Diode to ground pins on j6951 match another board...
Had corrosion on resistors near bios. Replaced all.
MacBook works fine but after sleeping overnight it won’t turn on. Replaced SMC, no change. I was removing jtag it turned on then didn’t when cooled. This led me to discovering if I heat the BIOS chip it turns on. Replaced and all is good until...
Liquid damage. Lots of minor blue everywhere.
components around u3100 has minor corrosion. u7650 looks like it might have been hit the hardest.
When plugged in I get 5.12v-5.16v on each port. No amps.
Looking around u7650 I noticed PPVIN_G3H_P5VG3S had .02v to ground. Traced it back to u7600...
the standard - pin 1/43 burn on j8500. Display side looks good.
Replaced u9850 and tested - nothing.
1/43 burned again and pin 3 short to ground. Removed u9850 and short gone.
Cleaned up j8500 and check for continuity between ground and 1/3 then replaced u9850 and verified short was gone...
Very clean board. No corrosion anywhere and only minor dust.
Green/amber light but no life. No response to SMC bypass. Checking the rails everything looks good down to pp5v_s5 which is bouncing around from 3v-4.4v. PPVIN_S5_P5V is solid at 12.58v. Almost everything else on U7501 is bouncing...
Very clean board with the exception of a little blue around u6101. Magsafe green then orange.
Cleaned area with no change. Replaced u1900, u6101 and cleaned under u6100. All resistors around test good.
Mac came to me with a chinese charger so I switched attention to ISL. Replaced twice, no...
I get a light on USB device on this side but no data. Left side is fine.
Board appears clean other than very minor corrosion around C7336 and some gunk in left side USB (removed).
Replaced i/o board and both cables with known good.
Same function in boot menu/OS.
Similar to my other recent post except no video internal or external. No image or backlight.
This was a fully working MacBook that had a cracked display. Customer brought into a local shop that replaced the display resulting in this. Caps lights up, fans spin, in-line meter appears to show the...
External display worked but nothing on internal. Pin 43 and 1 of the display connector appeared burnt. I've resolved this a few times before with replacing u9850.
This time I replaced u9850 and tested with the display - nothing. Removed the connector and noticed further burning around 43 & 1 of...
Replacing a customers board with a board from my inventory. Board was working but customer wanted SN changed to match. I've done this multiple times without issue.
This time while using Medusa 3 tool I got an error. Tried re applying SN, "Fsys Block not found". Clean ME region - failed. (board...
Very clean machine/ board that I received from a local shop I do repairs for.
Customer left untouched in their truck for a while and when they attempted to use again it was dead. Shop removed board and inspected. Apparently, when they reassembled it would now turn on but no battery detected...
Received 820-3332 as "running slow, fans high".
u8900 previously 'repaired' by Apple. I replaced with leaded still. All else looks great, no liquid, only some thermal paste residue.
Testing showed 8 related failed sensors - GPU proximity, GPU Die, Left/Right Fin stack. visually, u5550 area...
820-3332. No visible issues.
Internal keybord and trackpad not responsive and not recognized in system info - tested with 2 known good. External works.
SMC reset/ power button works (know this is different).
