A2992 stuck on restore exclamation mark after liquid damage Lots of damage, mainly in 2 areas. around U6070 and on the other side of U7700 Also U5000 (Juno - Secure Element) which concerns me most. I took it off, cleaned and reballed it. Am I correct with guessing this is critical and...

    A2992 - liquid damage - PP1V2_S2 2.6ohm short

Following your advice - I injected 1V to PP1V2_S2 and WiFi chip (UL000) heats up. PP1V8_S2 also goes there. It took almost 1.6 amps So I suppose motherboard is as good as dead, UL000 is married to the CPU, right? Unless I drill it where the hotspot is and hope for a passive component inside...

    A2992 - liquid damage - PP1V2_S2 2.6ohm short

Yes I have a decent thermal cam. I didnt want to start injecting voltage right away. And I see both PP1V2_S2 and PP1V8_S2 are shorted. Right now I removed both U8100 and U7700. Shorts remain. I suppose I should not risk injecting 1V to PP1V2_S2 since it goes directly to the CPU But I will try...

    A2992 - liquid damage - PP1V2_S2 2.6ohm short

A2992 - liquid damage - PP1V2_S2 2.6ohm short. Booting motehrboard has 3-4kOhms resistance on this line Damaged areas were kb backlight, speaker aplifier chips and vicinity of U8100 PMIC. U8100 was replaced after I discovered it was shorted. 5V 0amp - motherboard out of the assembly 5V 0.4 amp...

A2337 - dead after being connected to failing projector

I have decided to do motherboard replacement instead. I also put both CD3217 back to working donor, they work fine - the position does not affect them. I also tested it by swapping places again. They work fine and mac is charging fine. Thank you for your help, I might try to get back to this...

I am very confident in my job with CD3217, but I found one potentially oxidized pad under UF100, on VCC3P3_ANA

A2337 - dead after being connected to failing projector

Hello Thank you for the reply. I most likely did not maintain the position of the chips, neither CD3217 nor UF100/UF000 Switched 3217 around and still same behavior with bare board on the bench. When board in the topcase with battery plugged: 1. Connectred to port parallel to UF00: - stays...

A2337 - dead after being connected to failing projector

A2337 - looping from 5V to 20V Was connected over Belkin or some other adapters via HDMI, to a projector that has failed. It started with power cycling on both ports, when it gets to 19-20V power meter shuts down and goes from 5 to 20V again I was hoping for an easy win and just replaced...

    A2442 after liquid damage

Device was liquid damaged Unfortunately it supposedly was in 2 repair shops prior and has signs of a diy attempt. Nothing too serious though. It was probably "tested" and supplied power while missing 3 bigger and 1 small caps on PPVIN_P3V8AON_ISNS line, in Q5800 and Q5820 vicinity After...

A2485 820-02100 - no image on the screen, but its working sometimes

Nothing seems to work Got image on external only when booting to recovery/selection screen by holding power button. Otherwise it doesn't want to display to external, it used to without issues when I backed up data, not anymore. Voltages present, backlight is around 12V, same as working A2442...

A1990 - brain dead, charges and powers on

Thank you I took NANDs from A2159, minding channel and position. DFU restore via finder, completed successfully. Unfortunately mac is still brain dead, both GPU and CPU getting hot, no image on good LCD, no image on external. Should I try GPU bypass or just let it go?
