    820-00928a not turning on

Yes. Also, when I do an SMC reset, the current goes down to 350mA (like without fuses) while pressing the key combo and after letting go. Than it won't turn on (draw more amps) anymore unless I replug the charger.

    820-00928a not turning on

Sorry, that wasn't clear. The PCH only gets hot when it's trying to turn on. When I turn it off by pressing the power button, it's as if the fuses were removed, except without fuses it's drawing 20mA more.

    820-00928a not turning on

Without the fuses the PCH stays cold and the SMC is barely (~1°C) warmer then room temperature. With the fuses the PCH gets almost as hot as the CPU. The SMC stays as before. Any way to rule out or confine without blindly replacing those two?

    820-00928a not turning on

At the top I said, all power rails present, but actually PPBUS_G3H was 12.59V, which is ok for other boards, but not this, right? Now after removing the fuses, the usb-c multimeter says 350mA @20V and PPBUS_G3H is still 12.59V. When measuring PPDCIN_G3H_CHGR I get 21.2V although the usb-c...

I guess you mean both F7000 and F7001, right?

    820-00928a not turning on

Hi, I'll try to list everything I know so far: Draws ~1.1A @ 20V when powered (without battery) Draws ~330mA @ 20V when turned of with power button Kind of high right? but nothing gets hot, checked with IR camera All _s0 power rails present Tried flashing 4 different bios images found on...

A1708 randomly crashing when battery connected

i needed lots of heat to get them off, because the heat sink was still. maybe i should have removed it. PPVCCCPU is 0.95 initially, then drops to 0.

    820-00239 not turning on

Any advice what to do next? Do U7210/7220 get that hot on a good board?

A1708 randomly crashing when battery connected

I changed both, not it doesn't turn on at all. Drawing only 290mA. Did i toast the CPU?

A1708 randomly crashing when battery connected

I just tried ubuntu from a pendrive. The OS froze after generating some CPU load.

Same error with battery connected. Blue Windows screen with ACPI_BIOS_ERROR.

A1708 randomly crashing when battery connected

I tried installing via Boot Camp. After restart, it tries to boot into the Windows Installer, but gives ACPI_BIOS_ERROR right at the beginning. I did this all while J6951 is disconnected.

    820-00239 not turning on

The bios is from badcaps forum, described as 100% working. I checked the resistors and traces (except to the cpu pads) and all seems well.

In bypass mode, the progress bar is at around the middle and hasn't been moving for 20 minutes now.

A1708 randomly crashing when battery connected

It crashes in safe mode and with the image you provided. I can only bypass SMC if i disconnect battery (J6951). It's taking awfully long, though...still loading. But I'm not sure how this will help as the board will only crash when J6951 is connected.

A1708 randomly crashing when battery connected

No, but i will, once re-install finishes (can do while battery disconnected). It's a 820-00840-A EMC 3164.

A1708 randomly crashing when battery connected

So I flashed the BIOS with a cleaned ME I found at win-raid forum, but it's still showing same behaviour. All others images I tried from other websites either don't turn on at all or get stuck during boot screen. Do you have image(s) i could try? Maybe it's a HW issue after all? What could I check?

A1708 randomly crashing when battery connected

Hi, This board will randomly crash when the cable at J6951 is connected. It will happen during boot or when MacOS is fully loaded. During boot, for a split second the apple logo will sometimes have a red square background and the loading bar becomes green. The it will go into boot loop or get...
