820-00840 Max Fan Speed After Battery Replacement

I have already attempted a new screen and battery with neither causing any change. Would new screen still have ALS issue?

820-00840 Max Fan Speed After Battery Replacement

    No components noticeably knocked off the board near U5870 nor Q5805 CPUTHMSNS_ADDR_SEL (Pin 5) reads about 100 Ohms and is the only pin of U5870 reading low, but checking schematic it seems the R5871 is 100Ohms. u5870 Diode Readings 1- 0.368 2- 0.369 3- 0.593 4- 0.602 5- 0.109 6- 0.640 7- 0.641...

820-00840 Max Fan Speed After Battery Replacement

Have a MacBook that came in for a battery replacement. Device presented just fine overall. After powering on the system with the new battery installed the CPU fan runs at max speed no matter what. I've attempted another battery, I've attempted a new CPU fan and also attempted a new Trackpad &...

    820-00850 Weird Display Issue

Ran memtest from a USB and the system passed. So failing processor? Edit: CPU stress test from Prime95 had no issues. After starting Heaven GPU test I started getting artifacting in the OS. So GPU part of processor does appear to be failing.

    820-00850 Weird Display Issue

I have a MacBook that came in for a screen replacement. The original screen was not visibly damaged but was producing thin vertical lines in select parts of the screen. After replacing the screen there is weird artifacting that occurs in the loading screen and recovery mode screens. When loaded...

    820-00840 20V Boost, Fluctuating PP3V3_S5

Have an 820-00840 Board. History of device is that it was working fine and then no longer powered on. System boosts to 20V when plugged in, but only draws 2-10mA. PPBUS_G3H - 13.05V PP3V3_S5 is fluctuating from 0-3.3V in a 1-2 second cycle. PP3V3_S5 is not shorted to ground. Visual inspection...

    820-01949 Stuck at 5V

No, I attempted an 'Erase All Content & Settings" restore from system settings when it was booting fine. During the process of that it came back to the Apple Logo and then stopped doing anything beyond that.

    820-01949 Stuck at 5V

I was able to get the machine booted several times without issue. I extracted data to a time machine backup and transferred files to a USB without issue. However, after attempting to reset the device, the system now hangs at the Apple Logo. No loading icon, nothing. Just boots up to apple logo...

    820-01949 Stuck at 5V

Would it be easier to boot it into target disk mode and extract data if data is the only goal here? I just am curious if target disk mode is less resource intensive in a way that relies on less of the board to be functional versus it fully booting into the OS.

Resoldered F7000 after checking PPBUS. I get boost to 20V now. Have to wait for a new keyboard and battery to arrive as the customer's was no good. Will have better update once it arrives.

    820-01949 Stuck at 5V

Will replace U7000 as reading is still low. Am I wrong in it being "V"? I thought it was measuring voltage drop. Does U7000 have to come from donor board or will brand new IC work? Just not sure if chip is programmed by any means.

So I had those readings. Unplugged the board and walked away. Now when I plug in the board I only get a 15-20mA draw. VDDA is only 2.3V now. VDDP is only 2.6V now, resistance to ground is 171 Ohms. EN_MVR is 0V, resistance to ground is 4.520 MOhms Measuring across R7075 i get 4.8 Ohms U7000...
