820-00138 A1398, No green Light, no power on after short while testing PP3V42_G3H

Have a liquid damaged A1398, Replaced the battery and it would boot from the battery. 27% charged when charger was connected it read 100% and charging with no light on the mag-safe. I was trying to test PP3V42_G3H and my shaky hands bridged two SMDs with my positive lead from my multi-meter. C7102 connected to C7116. Now I got no power on from battery, and it no longer powers on when I connect the charger. Did I just kill this board? Is U7100 now dead, SMC or is this still fixable?

Yes you have put 12V on the 3V42 line. Probably a dead SMC and everything else on the 3V42 rail. Fixable but this is pretty fried.

Everything goes in a split second. I think there are about 10 components on this rail that are fried. I have fixed boards like this before but it is a lot of work.

I didn't have a battery connected, just a magsafe. It wasn't on at the time, is that 12v always present there? Or could I have done damage in another way here.

You can keep on thinking up stuff but this board got fried. Resistance to GND on PP3V42 is probably shorted or low. SMC is surely dead.

Oh well. No real loss, I got it for free because it was water damage to begin with. Guess my shaky hards can't do this work anymore. Thanks for the input.
