820-00165 - Liquid damage on the top edge - Board will power cycle twice, brain dead.

Hello,

I have that board which had liquid damage on the top edge around CPU and would not turn on.
After fixing the L7630 area on the left of the CPU and some multiple small areas on the back, especially around Y1915,the board would fan spin and reach an S0 state with both PP1V05_S0 and PPVCC_S0_CPU present.
However the board will fan spin twice. I've checked with a different Bios but no difference.

There are no pictures on the screen nor the backlight is present.
PLT_RESET_L is high.
PM_SYSRST_Lis high

PM_PCH_PWROK 3.3V

The board is like brain dead. That's not the first time I have seen that on a 820-00165 and I have never been able to fix these.

Any hint where else I could look?

Did you try known good working BIOS?
Board spins twice and remains on?
Liquid spill close to CPU is not good at all.
You can try to heat it with good flux.
No more than 200 degrees; no need to melt the balls, only burn evebtually accumulated crap.
Check first the voltages on the L/C blocks aligned between CPU and board edge.
Sometime one coil can be corroded, or some bad pads, solders can occur.
