Check pull up resistor, water damage around BIL connector, unplug BIL, water damage around battery connector, if you are measuring with DMM, voltage should fluctuate between 3.4V to 2.9, never seen go lower than that, on a working LB of course....
BIL connector was unplugged no noticable water damage around the area. Battery connector does have some white residue but nothing looks badly damaged and resistors have proper measurements. Using a fluke 15B+ to measure and the board works.
hi duke so the BIL works and now its charging while off and BIL connected. did this fix itself or is this a known design which bill has to be connected for it to charge? im confused.
update : spoke too soon is just randomly stops charging and Bil stopped working as well. it will work for a short period after connecting power only.
No idea, if it has crap under it. But that would also mess up PPBUS and that should drop to 12.3V without battery. Check when it does not want to charge what PPBUS voltage is with battery disconnected.
now its 11.77v on ppbus with battery connected no charge indication and BIL cable connected on ppbus.
12.62v with BIL disconnected no charge indication while battery connected on ppbus.
11.85 without Bil connected, charger unplugged and battery connected on ppbus.
12.28v without battery connected and BIL unplugged and plugged in on ppbus.
when leaving everything plugged in and reconnecting battery i get 12.30v on ppbus
just noticed it randomly start charging for a little bit then orange light turned back off voltage on ppbus went to 12.06v with everything plugged in.
ok so left the battery charger plugged in while battery was on 85% even though it had no orange light the battery went up to 98% could this thing be charging with indicator problems?
Communication from SMC to ISL seems intermittent. Could be crap under BIL connector, around ISL or under SMC. Charging works fine without BIL connected of course so leave that off to rule out that is causing issues.
