Another 2011 A1286 that will shut down as soon as Apple logo appears when internal or external HDD is attached.

This is on battery only and internal HDD unplugged.

apply some heat to GPU to test...

I more suspect the CPU Vcore FETs. If no change after heating the GPU change the FETs in the CPU Vcore supply together with U7400.
