The mac will run on the battery if it is replaced with new one. When the charger is plugged in the charger will turn from green to orange. When the mac boots the battery icon is shown as an X. u7100 has been replaced as I see that Louis had this issue and replacing this ic solved the problem. This hasnt fixed the problem in my case. R5381 measures 2.010 R5380 measures 1.984 . R6950 measures 10.00 . Pin 6 to 9 = 10.00 .

Battery connector diode measurements :

Thanks for that, I dont have any donor boards and dont have the time to wait for one to come from china so il inform the customer of the problem and see what they would like to do.

Was this liquid? You can try a light reflow on the SMC if it was liquid. No need to fully reflow it, just some heat and flux to boil the crap away.

Yes I think it was, coke I think, how hot are we talking, like 150c ?

By the way, what on the info I gave you points to the smc being the problem ?, just so I know what to look out for when diagnosing this.

150C is fine. There is nothing else involved in battery recognition, SMC,ISL 2 pull up resistors and some traces.
