820-3462 sound works for 1sec then stops.

Hi guys,


This one plays sound for 1sec and stops. If you wait a while it will play for another second and stop again... I already replaced the audio codec but the problem remains. I focused on the audio codec since there are more than one amps and I thought that it can't be all of them failing.. (unless they have something common as a voltage rail?)

any ideas?

check it for shorting you mean? or if it works? I will do today and let you know..

Yes please check if it switches to optical(look into the port, if the red optical lamp is on). sometimes that is it.

so it has the same behaviour with headphones.. the sound comes up for half a sec and then stops.. if you wait a while it can work again for another half-second..

there is no light shining from the port indicating a working optical SPDIF output...

any ideas?

Check power to codec and 4.5V from U6200. Also check around Q2620 see if that circuit is working ok.
