first i want to make sure. does this need an 85w charger or can this work with a 60w, does the fan spin on startup or is it one that has to get hot first? i do have green light with battery and amber with no battery.

60W should work, fan should spin, voltage at PPBUS_G3H? PP5V_S4 present or pulsing?? is this whater damage? Where? Any history?

no water damage, only history i got was, she was using it, it shut off on its own, she took it to a repair shop in california, and they told her the logic board was shot needed replaced. she lives in kansas so she wanted another opinion when she got back, and here it is on my desk. visually board is hairy but no signs of broken, or corroded parts. i have to wait a while for my voltmeter to come back. co worker took it to another store. ill get voltages shortly and post back

if your talking about PPVCC_S0_CPU im not getting a pulse its staying 0. unless i go all the way down on my voltmeter, 200m i get .1 pulse, pretty sure thats not actual voltage

There must be a S0 rail that is not pulsing then else ALL_SYS would come high. Check all rails for pulsing.

if i missed any rail, please let me know. several rails are doing nothing.

Check all rails for shorts to GND, this includes all S3/S4/S0 ones.
