liquid damage to io board connector on logic. does not power on. Green light present. No other liquid observable.
Not going into S4 state. Readings:

PPBUS_G3H 12.6v
PPVIN S5 HS COMPUTING ISNS 12.6v
PPVIN_S5_HS_OTHER3V3 ISNS 12.58v
PPVRTC_G3H 3.3v
PP5V_S5 5v
(all solid)
SMC_PM_G2_EN solid 3.4v
PP5V_S4 flicking between 0 and 5v

Followed back to U7501

U7501 pin 4 P5VS4_EN jumping from 0 -3.3v

Followed back to U8170

U8170 pin 4 jumping 0-3.3v
U8170 pin 6 (power) solid 3.3v

Following back:

PM_SLP_S5_L jumping 0-3.3v
SMC S4 WAKESRC EN jumping 0-3.3v

Any hints please or is this likely dead PCH ?

There is hope, inspect board carefully for more corrosion. Was the connector cleaned/removed? May still have crap under it.

Thanks Duke. Initially i cleaned and touched up the connector. After this did not change anything i removed the connector entirely. Looking at the pads for the connector they don't look burnt or missing.
Having another look round the board there is a dab of liquid on top of U7310 - but pins and area around look clean - this seems to deal with CPU_ISNS and is powered by PP5V_S0 so probably not important if not getting to S4 ? - i may just ultrasonic this and see if that does anything and report back.

I spent a good hour checking over the board but did no spot any hints, as such I did US clean this board. I do now get quarter fan spin which repeats. Same voltage jumping on PP5V_S4. Any further thoughts before it goes to the bottom of the pile ?
