Disabling 2011 Macbook Pro GPU

Has anyone tried or thought about disabling the bad GPU's in hardware? I know there are some software solutions out there but they are pretty tricky and don't always work. I wonder if there is a stuffing option on the boards (ie. GMUX_CFG0) or maybe just keep the PCI bus in reset by reconfiguring a resistor so the driver can't see it.

Maybe at some point I will get to this. One thing you can try is removing R8795. Then check if PEX_CLKREQ_L stays high and if it forced to internal GFX. If it does not stay high you may need to pull it up to 3V with a 10K resistor. No guarantees this works though....

i instralled windows on a gpu reflowed 2011 macbook, with osx it was very slow, but with windows its fast, i guess it is not using the dedicated GPU, or utilizing it differently.

Being slow is probably a sensor issue, run ASD. But why bother, reflowed garbage will die in a few weeks/months again anyway. Unless you want to rip some one off by selling it quickly....
