iMac ssd upgrade

NOOB question, customer wants to upgrade his defunct hdd with a ssd on an imac 1311 emc 2389, is there any cable or stuff to bypass the temperature sensor? i have read i should get an OWC cable but i don't know which one. thank you

nah. i rather buy another dvd reader temp sensor and attach it to the place were there should be the hard disk one

You're asking for something to "bypass" the sensor and I gave you the answer, but of course you can do whatever you want .....

Tie them together it does not matter anyway if you install an SSD.

There is literally no reason to have a hard drive sensor when you have no hard drive installed. The SSD will not get nearly as hot as the hard drive, and certainly won't need a sensor to monitor heat. You'll be spending time and money for no reason.
