MacBook Air (M1 / A2337 / 820-02016-A) - Unable to power USB device on USBC0 port

Hi,

MacBook Air (M1) got water damaged in area of the CD3217 (USBC0) ... device is able to boot.

- 20V boost is working fine which means that the CD3217 is fine
- Issue: Unable to power USB device on USBC0 port // USBC1 port is working fine.

What should I check first? Is there something wrong with PP5V on USBC0 port?

Sadly I cant open the .BVR file via "openboardview".

Check first if you get 5V on the USB device, connected to USBC0 port.

Compare diode mode readings between USBC0/1 data lines.

I managed to open the .BVR3 file which line should I check? How is it called? UPC0_5V_EN?

PPVBUS_USBC0 is only 1.7V (UPC0_5V_EN = 0V) when an usb device is connected, PPVBUS_USBC1 is 5.1V (UPC1_5V_EN = 3.2V) with an usb device connected ... which is normal.

So I assume the CD3217 (UF400) is faulty because the _EN signal is an output line, which is generated by the CD3217, right?

Note: That was the water damage.

Issue solved ... a CD3217 reflow solved the issue, im now getting 3.2V on the UPC0_5V_EN signal) and im able to power an usb device.
