board boots to os but image is distorted.

r9665 and r9663 were knocked off of the board

replaced r9663 before realizing r9665 was knocked off as well and surprisingly it booted with no distortion but a couple minutes after distortion returned.

replaced r9665 twice but it wont go above 5.39kohm it should be at or close to 100ohm

distortion continues.

Termination resistor r9665 must be 100 Ohm or it will give interference on that LVDS line. Double check what is going on there.

But the board was messed with, so what are the chances it has a bag GPU that was either heated, reballed or replaced with Chinese junk.

You said it measured incorrect.

Yes or no?

got them mixed up its r9655 thats not going above 5.39kohm

but yes the board has most likely been messed with before.

9665 look fine and has continuity. it is measuring 98.8ohm
got them mixed up its r9655 thats not going above 5.39kohm

What is it now?

so let me correct myself

r9663 and r9655 were knocked off. replaced r9663 before realizing r9655 was missing. booted and got a good image but after a couple minutes went back to distortion.

replaced r9655 twice because it wont go above 5.39kohm but should be 100ohm or 1% within it.

r9663=98.8ohm
r9655=5.39kohm

image is still distorted.

r9655 should also be 100 Ohm, so with a good resistor on there it should read 100 Ohm. Why you say "wont go above 5.39kohm" is a mystery to me as it needs to be lower not higher.

But I hope you realize that in the end when you fixed this issue and this board still has its original 2011 GPU it will be a matter of time before that dies. Unless you intend to replace the GPU this board can never be considered reliable in any way. With a new GPU they are good for about 2-3 years and it WILL die again.

oh yeah kohm is more than an ohm ha. ill see what happens if i can get a good resistor on there. then move on if it doesnt fix it. thanks duke.
