the board was liquid damage. i fixed backlight area..
someone has work on this board before.

things seem to be working but fan runs high, can run osx etc...

do i have a bad smc?


ASD give me:

Sensor = Temp (TC0D) -- CPU 0 Die analog (test1) - sensor reads within Operateing range...
check to ensure that sensor....
ERROR - SMC IO FAILED
Test Failed

Sensor = Temp (TC0P) -- CPU Proximity (test1) - sensor reads within Operateing range...
check to ensure that sensor....
ERROR - SMC IO FAILED
Test Failed

Sensor = Temp (TM0P) -- Battery Charger Proximity (test1) - sensor reads within Operateing range...
check to ensure that sensor....
ERROR - SMC IO FAILED
Test Failed

checking sensors on page 51 now...

U5510 looks good and all the surrounding resistors.

U5510
PP3V3_S0_CPUTHMSNS_R - pin 1 = 3.249v
SMBUS_SMC_B_S0_SDA - pin9 = 3.292v
SMBUS_SMC_B_S0_SCL - pin10 = 3.292v

found corrosion on U5410

replaced and didnt fix the adove problems.


any idea?

Q5520's voltages is constantly jumping:
pin1 = 0.959v-1.111v
pin2 = 0.530v-0.653v
pin3 = 0.937v-1.123v

R5260 = 4.2kohm - good
R5261 = 4.2kohm - good

diode mode
SMBUS_SMC_B_S0_SDA = 0.539
SMBUS_SMC_B_S0_SCL = 0.492

removed R5222/23

SMBUS_SMC_B_S0_SDA = 0.746
SMBUS_SMC_B_S0_SCL = 0.537

yep still different.



removed U5510
SMBUS_SMC_B_S0_SDA = 1.639
SMBUS_SMC_B_S0_SCL = 0.513


bad smc?
