[SOLVED] 820-3437 no keyboard backlight

I have a 820-3437 board whose keyboard backlight is not working. I tried with a new working backlight strip and that did not work as well. I took some measurements of the backlight driver and connector with the backlight plugged in.

Pins 1/2 - 0v
Pins 3/4 - 4.94v

U7750
Pin 1 - 4.94v
Pin 2 - 5.01v
Pin 7 - 5.01v
Pins 3/4/5/6/8 - 0v

I checked on a probe point for SMC_SYS_KBDLED and there was no signal. There was liquid damage near the SMC before I UC'ed the machine.

When you adjust the backlight do you get the forbidden sign? Are you covering up the isight to make ALS think it is dark?

Yes when I hit the keyboard backlight button I get the forbidden sign. When I cover the isight camera the brightness on the screen dims but still no light on the keyboard.

Update: I did some google searches on this and read that once I cover the isight camera I would then be able to the adjust the keyboard brightness. That solved the issue.
