Hello,

We have received that MacBook retina 12" 2015 for servicing with a broken charging port.
Charging port will work but not lock the charging cable.
Other than that, Mac was working fine.

After pulling out the computer and replacing the USB-C cable, we can't get it to boot up with a new charging port.
Board gets hot but nothing on the screen,

If we put back the original USB-C port, it boots up.

One more thing, if we plug the cable to the audio board, it will never start as well.
We have also tried a new cable+audio board with no success.

So, to summarize, with audio cable/board plugged, board will never start.
With new USB-C connector+cable, won't start either but with old port, it will start.

Board looks clean under the microscope, no knock off components found.

I am just clueless with this board.

Has anyone suffered similar issues with these Retina 12" boards?

Thanks.

There are different cables, have you checked part numbers on them? Are they even known good? China picked them from the trash probably.

After some test, we've found out that when the board 820-4049-A is plugged, PP3V3_S0 is shorted.
Parts number are the same.

We suspect that originally the cable 821-1910-A was bent and created a short. After plugging the new board with the faulty keyboard we did short the 2 different boards we had.

Anyone has the schematic for the Audio board 820-4049-A please?

No schematic for that. Either using the wrong cable or wrong board or the audio board is just dead. Cable not plugged in upside down?

You got it. It was. These connectors/cables are confusing.
Same connectors but on the MLB, connections are facing down, on the audio board facing up.

My apologies.
