[SOLVED]820-3332-A gpu issues

I have a MBP here.

History: Previously going into kernel panic and having graphic issues. Customer done work around u8900 with bad results - components moved - some connections bridged etc - its been fixed now.

Machine does boot with image but no backlight. Upon testing some voltages

I can see GPU_3.3, IFPX IOVDD, GPUVCORE are all outputting 3.3v???? how is this possible?

Okay - non lazy version: Basically i got video out. No backlight. I can see apple logo with torch. Also external display is present.

here are the voltages

ppbus_g3h 12.62v
pp3v42 3.4v
pp3v3_s0 3.34v
pp5v_s0 5.06v
pin 1 on lcd connector 0v

ppbus_sw_bkl 0v

bklt_en 100mV
bkl_sw 80mV

c9711 3.3v present
c9710 5v present

f9700 12.6v on both side

q9706 getting 12.6v on pin 3 and 4 but im getting 0v on 1-2-5-6

pram done - nothing on lcd_bklt_en

according to what customer said he only worked around the u8900. now the guy doesnt have microscope he bridged a connection and some components were removed. I will re-check this area. Duke do you think it could be something in this area that is affecting smc in anyway? or smc straight out screwed?

U8900 has nothing to do with backlight if all rails it produces are present.

EG_BKLT_EN present? It could be a MUX or GPU problem if hot air was applied to the area. You are checking these voltages with an LCD connected I hope.

forgive me i was teting without LCd connector :eek:
with lcd connector connector EG_BKLT_EN and LCD_BKLT_EN present

PWOARRRRRR. found problem. pin 1 was bent on lcd connector so far back. only spotted under microscope. full working now thanks for ur help duke legendary as always.
