    820-00281 EFi Padlock remove

Dukefawks says "There are 2 instances of $SVS in the binary. One will have a bunch of crap after it and the other won't. Make the one that has a bunch of crap look like the one that doesn't. Make sure you keep an original copy in the case you screw up! After the fix do a PRAM reset and install...

    820-00281 EFi Padlock remove

Finally got it to work. To recap the problem when changing the values between the $SVS to FF after starting the Macbook it would re-write the values back, hence not allowing you to do a PRAM as the lock was back. So i found another BIOS from a donor board which didn't have any lock on it and...

    820-00281 EFi Padlock remove

I don't have Medusa programmer, tried to do a PRAM with brand new keyboard, still the same. I think the reason why it's not allowing it to do a PRAM is because as soon as the MacBook boots it writes the data between $SVS preventing it from allow to do a PRAM. Not sure at this stage if...

    820-00281 EFi Padlock remove

I've got an A1707 820-00281 which shows a padlock when option key is press. I've read the BIOS and replaced all contents between $SVS with FF. When i try and boot the MacBook it still shows the padlock, when i read the BIOS again all the information between $SVS has returned. I tried to...

    820-01041 stuck at 5V 0.38A

Where would you suggest the problem is.. U3000 or maybe U7000? This power line is used all over the board. Is it going to me a matter of removing each component until it's found?

    820-01041 stuck at 5V 0.38A

No liquid damage found on the board. 3 ports were going at 5v 0.42A replaced UB300 as it had a short to ground on PP3V3_UPC_TA_LDO. That is now cleared and I get 3.3v on that line. The board is missing PP3V3_S5 and PP5V_S5_LDO (not sure if they are supposed to be present at 5v) My main concern...

    820-02020 Wi-Fi problems

820-02020 which has suffered liquid but still turns on and working fine apart from the Wi-Fi greyed out. The damage was near to the WiFi chip. I replaced UL001 & CL071 as they were both corroded. Also noticed that the TP for WLBT_PWR_EN was damaged so i've ran a trace from JL103 to the TP. this...

Nothing on the PMU rails - checked all coils.. I've check every cap - no short to ground. I think i'm going to have to leave this as I cannot understand why the amp's don't move from 0 when applying power!!

    820-02091 - A2348 - No power

This has landed on my bench with just stopped working one day and has no power. Hooked up to my bench supply (max 5A) gives 12v 0A. I've check for a short to ground on the Caps - nothing found. As soon as I connect my bench supply to the board I get a jump of amps from 0.06 to 0.00 and...

    820-01236 backlight fault

It's very strange this one.. I've check all the resistors, coils etc and everything looks normal. The only thing that isn't normal is the diagnostic lights. I've never seen this configuration before. I will have to wait until I get another in to check.... I'll keep you updated.
