Macbook A2289 Trackpad electrically compatible alternatives (if any?)

For the purpose of differential testing of a board here; does the A2289 / A2251 trackpad have electrical compatibility to any other models like the A1989 or A2159 ? Regards, Paul.

820-2915 clean ME BIOS image required

Hello all, Wanting a clean ME region 820-2915 BIOS that I can use for my own BIOS generation ( doing the usual ssn SN change, and then fixing the checksum using UEFITool ). If that's not available, then SN I need this BIOS for is C2QKR3D1DV33 Regards, Paul L Daniels.

Clean ME for 820-2850 so I can change SN for a MB replacement

... and that was the penny-drop moment. After I pulled the BIOS off the dead board, checked its SN, lo behold, it's a W8012... 11 byte SN. Explains a lot of things. Thank you. This task is now complete.

Clean ME for 820-2850 so I can change SN for a MB replacement

That makes things all the more curious. I'm wondering if the bottom plate that was fitted is in fact the incorrect one for the chassis/machine that was supplied. Unfortunately the mainboard was dead (PCH) as such I was not able to boot to confirm the SN. Just realised now I can take the chip...

Clean ME for 820-2850 so I can change SN for a MB replacement

Right, this is where I'm runnning in to an issue. The supplied BIOS has room for 11 character SN, where's the SN I have for this machine is 12 characters; so where do I factor in the extra byte? I can expand the whole section of the file and removing two of the zero-bytes immediately following...

Clean ME for 820-2850 so I can change SN for a MB replacement

Thanks. I don't have the Medusa. I still do it the long way, removing the chip, reflashing and resoldering; which at least works for all the boards.

Have you tried checking Badcaps forum? They're a very good non-payment, English-centric site.

    A1466 820-3437-B no power

Ah, small world there. Hope the new releases of FlexBV are helping you adjust colours more to your liking, especially now with the colour adjustable parts ability. Did you get 32kHz on pin 12 of U1900 ? Is the corrosion seemingly from liquid ingress or more just that typical surface corrosion...

    A1466 820-3437-B no power

    What's PPVRTC_G3H ? Do you also get PCH_CLK32K_RTCX1 (32kHz) ? Look around U6100 / U1900 for damage/corrosion Also check U8005 for corrosion

Clean ME for 820-2850 so I can change SN for a MB replacement

Hello all, definitely calling in a plz-bro on this. I've got an A1286 with an i7 2.66GHz mainboard that I have to replace for a client and I want to migrate the SN, unfortunately none of the clean-ME region BIOS images for the 820-2850 seemed to work for me ( usually 165, 3437 and similar ones...

    820-00163 BIOS fix required

Are BIOS/EFI repairs done here still? Apologies if not, I know it was something that Duke offered at the time in the past.

    820-00163 BIOS fix required

Require a BIOS fix for an 820-00163 which exhibited no response/activity other than to show blinking folder when all devices (and USB) are removed. Testing with a donor board BIOS restored functionality. Original (corrupted?) and donor BIOS images included in the zip file located at...

2014 Mac Mini "Pin lock" - removal required (genuine ownership)

Have a Macmini 2014 model (with the beloved T6 security torx), comes up with a 6-digit pin lock with Apple logo. This unit is from an e-waste recycling centre that I normally do a lot of work for, so I'm assuming valid ownership. I've cloned the 64MBit chip that's on the top side of the PCB...
