ok so i have removed F7000 and checked voltage at C7050 and getting nothing there. I have also just checked LDO 1.1 and getting 0v there

PPBUS_G3H 0.38V 3V3_G3H 3.41V LDO's on both cd3215 read correctly, however they will read correctly for a few seconds, drop lower and then comeback on reading correctly again. This was tested with and without the battery

ok thanks. ive replaced the cd3215 and short is no longer there. am getting 3v3 on PP3V3R3V0_AON however charger is still stuck at 5v 22ma this time. Checking ppbus_G3H im getting -0.134v, on diode mode im getting 0.405v. resistance to ground is ~265kohms. checked 3V3_G3H (L6995) and no shorts...

which connector are we talking about to be careful of?

On further investigation found PP3V3R3V0_AON to be shorted to ground @4 ohms. removed cd3215 and short has gone. Will order another and fit. Would a loose fitting usb port cause this? every cable seems slightly loose when fitting. Just weird why its failed for no apparent reason. cheers

Hi. so short story, battery health was @ 55% capacity. before strip down the macbook would work, charge at 20v and didn't really appear to have any other issues. swapped battery and now taking no charge. was originally 5v 120 ma. after NVram and PRAM reset it went down to 38ma @ 5v. iv tried...

pretty sure this is 2019 model. like i said with usb-c it doesnt charge or do anything. just sits at 5v 5-10ma. only way to charge the battery will be either via another macbook the same (dont have one)or charging it from my DCPS which im used to doing.

battery is dead. i guess i can charge it using my DCPS to test this theory

unfortunately i dont have one. i ordered 2 from mouser. both the same. however i think the issue is my using a little to much heat and the board has warped slightly. So annoyed with myself

ok i did this and short has gone. i have replaced u2800 with one from mouser and now its worse, im now getting 5v and 10ma on charger with and without battery. getting nothing out of 3v3_rtc where i was before. loosing the will to live with this thing
