Bios Chip from Donor Board

Fixed a 2011 11in A1370 today that had a bad capacitor. But then realized it had an EFI lock bought it on facebook so can't guess the password, and the seller removed their original SSD.

I do have a lot of working A1370 donor boards, but they all have i5/2GB memory, whereas this laptop has an i7/4GB memory. Would simply moving the chip over without programming work? Thanks!

Transplanted BIOS chip will have a "dirty" ME region for your PCH.
You will need to clean ME region, in such case.

Is better to remove the EFI password from your BIOS.
Upload the backup somewhere.

I don't have a bios chip reader, is there any other way to get a backup?

would a ch341a programmer work?

CH341 is good enough.
