Non Mac - Gaming laptop BQ24735 circuit is being stubborn

The situation as of now is I press the power button (on it's button board connected to con5602) and I get a red light from PWR_LED but no other activity. PWR_SW goes low and PM_PWRBTN stays high. Current draw stays the same and nothing heats up above normal. Is this the EC? Should I be looking...

Non Mac - Gaming laptop BQ24735 circuit is being stubborn

Well I reassembled it to wait for the new battery but now it doesn't power on from the AC. It gets all the way past PM_RSMRST, ME_AC_PRESENT, and SUSWARN, but when I short PWR_SW no action happens, no extra current drawn seemingly. Super IO is bad? what have i done to my boy?!

Non Mac - Gaming laptop BQ24735 circuit is being stubborn

OK I have updated the main post, it's probably just a dead battery, but can anyone tell me about D8801 being low on pin 3? Is that right? It measures 3.1 and 19.6 on the anodes but 19.3 on the cathode, there doesn't seem to be any reason for it to be pulled down, but this schematic is labelled...

Non Mac - Gaming laptop BQ24735 circuit is being stubborn

Edit discard this I think I may have made a mistake in my initial post. EDIT 2 YEP I REALLY DID. Changing Q8802 and all the rest right now to it's default state (minus the shorted fets) and remeasuring. Continue to ignore, i'll reply when I've fixed my initial post.

Non Mac - Gaming laptop BQ24735 circuit is being stubborn

Hello, I’m troubleshooting a rather nice gaming laptop with a battery issue i can’t seem to figure out. It does not charge the battery though it seems like it’s attempting to. I found both high and low side PHASE fets shorted internally, replaced them with WHAT I THINK is are equivalents (og =...

820-01700 20V, charging, reboots ~ when screen should light up

This machine came from a different shop. Damage to UA600 and nearby PP5V_G3S support. Replaced chip, resistors, cleaned traces, verified continuity and, found 5V present on PP5V_G3S and GPU_COREREG. Damage near SSD0 components as ususal but no shorts. I lifted the controller to check even...

looked it over again, no missing anything that I can see No pulses on PPVCCGT, CPUCORE, PPVCC_CPU, PPVCORE using oscilloscope (battery disconnected. same result with batt connected) PPBUS actually is rising from 12.6 to 13V before the adapter resets and 20V is negotiated again with my tester...

820-01987 - 5V @ 245mA. Water damage around hall sensor. Boots ok on batt?

1v8_slps2r is present in all the places I expect it to be. : I measured on pin 27 of j6600 and both the cd3217s. Any other ideas? It should get 20v without a working battery right? Found the battery flex copper was split, so i replaced it too but still no love.
