It is fixed, dfu error was from the AC2 machine lacking space…
Thank you for your support.
To summarize:
-5v 30-40mA because shorted cap C8430 on PP5V_MPMU_BSTLQ_XW rail
-Replaced the shorted cap but still 5V 30mA because coil L8430 was open and U8100 was not receiving PP3V3_AON
-Replaced...
Yes I solder back each chip as soon as I rule out it is not causing the short, then i go to the other chip.
You were right I had a problem with my stencil, it was not flat on the middle and tricked me. I reballed U8100 and solder it back:
Now it chimes and I have the...
Yes I had chime consistently, I was able to Power off and power on, when I pressed power button I had again the chime. Caps Lock never reacted and I didn't see any light on my auxiliary usbc adapter dongle.
I am editing my message, because I noticed P5V_S2 (missing the enable) not even showing...
Hello 2informaticos,
LDOs on U8100 where surprisingly all 0V:
So I checked further and noticed MPMU_BSTLQ_LX (input I guess) was 2V. PP5V_MPMU_BSTLQ_XW and PP5V_MPMU_BSTLQ were also 2V.
The coil L8430 was open with 2Mohms! I had 3.8 volt (PP3V8_AON) on one side and 2V on its other side...
This one has no liquid and just died suddenly.
Inspected the board and found out C8430 dead shorted. Replaced the cap and no more short (0,442 diode mode value).
However usbc meter is still showing 5V with 30-40mA.
I noticed the rail PP5V_MPMU_BSTLQ_XW is only 2V, schematic says 5V but I don't...
Unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce the same situation, can't load options to go with internet recovery, machine keeps constantly rebooting even with 3V8_AON..
Thanks for the usb boot trick didn't know that on this recent machine but the machine doesn't pick up external usb drive...neither...
As soon as I get 20V on usbc-meter with providing at the same time external 5V to PP5V_S2 I will get 3V8_AON.
usbc meter cycles as follow: 5v->20V-> 0v and repeat 5v->20V-> 0v it stays long enough at 20V to be able to see progress bar going to 25% and then it cycles again.
When I shut off...
I ended up puting back the original chip U5700.
I checked also all surrounding components near u5700 and evrything is in spec. Liquid was more near speakeramp UR700 and UR730.
Something may probably help, I injected 5V at PP5V_S2 rail (it is not shorted) and plugged the usbc charger...
I replaced U5700 501CR17 with U5700 501CR0B coming from A2337 board and i have exactly same results. 5V 35mA with same values on pins 8, 7, 5 and 12
I had doubts for the chip but schematics shows same pinout...
This board came in liquid damage near the daughter board and slightly on the logicboard.
Cleaned everything, checked for shorts and plugged in usbc charger, I see only 5V 35mA. Don't know where to start with this board.
I took this measurements but it doesn't give me any clue and have no other...
Yes always working with original 85w magsafe 2 charger.
I see the hdmi active signal ls coming on the monitor and then it goes away when board shuts off. This corresponds with the moment where the board chimes and shuts off I don’t see apple logo.
This board got probably a bad overvoltage from...
I finally have hopefully more accurate observations.
With board on the table and only mouse and charger plugged in
It will start only if i short SMC_ONOFF_L and it will last around 14 seconds before it shuts off.
With board on the table and mouse and charger plugged in + any components (one at...
I edited the message but somehow it didn't registered, I tried the bypass and it does exactly the same, I mean it will spin the fan full a brief instant and then shuts off.
When I short SMC_ONOFF_L, PM_PWRBTN shifts from 3.3 to 0.3 and it comes back to 3.3V when I release the short on...
Got this board and hesitated to repair it as they are becoming cheap. Opened the case and found a big burned spot on magsafe board and DCin circuit, no liquid at all.
I restored all dc-in circuit: F7005, D7010, R7121/R7120 (sensing), R7105. U7190 was replaced also because I got 4.6V on L7195...
I had this board in for repair, a liquid damage one.
Both speaker amp controllers on audio board and logicboard (U6400) were shorted.
I replaced them and all shorts went away except for SPKRAMP_RESET_L it is shorted right from T2 U3900.
Audio volume button is not greyd out, I can put it up or...
Thanks 2informaticos, it ended up the U8200 from the donnour was also faulty! I found another one from A1706 and everything is fine now!
After a long and risky pch job replacement I was a little bit discouraged with the second fault...
