    820-00928 20v 40ma

Hi 2informaticos, thank you for your help. L7330 and L7960 are pulsing but the multimeter isn't quick enough to catch the peak (possibly 0.8v-1v). L8000 has nothing on pin 1 P1VS4_PHASE but does have 1v constant on pin 2 PP1V_PCH_REG_R P12V_SSD_VPP_SW & _L are holding at 0.15v and pulsing...

    820-00928 20v 40ma

Hello, I have an 820-00928 with 20v and only 0.04a which jumps to 0.40a and back again every 15 seconds. No obvious signs of liquid and wont start on SMC bypass Testing board on the side only with only a dc in board connected, I get: PPBUS_G3H = 12.52 PP3V3_S0 = pulsing ALL_SYS_PWRGD =...

Not a Mac but a charging circuit issue

I've spent the last week trying to sort my sons brand new Acer laptop for a charging issue after liquid damage. Originally it wouldn't turn on but I found shorting caps on the 19VB_CHG circuit. Replaced those with the same and the laptop fired up fine, works on charger or battery but won't...

    820-3115 No CPU Vcore

Can I take another bios chip off of the same board EMC 2554 to check that?

    820-3115 No CPU Vcore

I've checked all resistors around the SMC including the other side. Took ages but it seems they are all okay. Is there any way to narrow it down?

    820-3115 No CPU Vcore

All SPI Bus series termination resistors test as schematic. Traces look good, not sure what to check next. I have PP3v3_SUS

    820-3115 No CPU Vcore

I have an 820-3115 liquid damage around SMC. Originally no magsafe light. Removed and reballed SMC, now I get magsafe and fan spin with the fan at full speed after 5 seconds. CPU has a little heat in it after a min or so. ALL_SYS_PWRGD = 3.29v PPVCORE_S0_CPU = 0.00v I'm stuck with this one...

    820-00875 dead short on PPBUS_G3H_CPU

Took off the pad, dug down and separated the short. It had burnt the fiberglass layers under it so bad that it was shorting under the pad. I've removed the short now and i'll attempt to run trace wires in its place instead

    820-00875 dead short on PPBUS_G3H_CPU

Unfortunately its a short within the layers under pad 1of C7220 :( Not sure if this will be fixable

    820-00875 dead short on PPBUS_G3H_CPU

Do you think maybe remove U7410,20,30 to see if shorted?

    820-00875 dead short on PPBUS_G3H_CPU

    The closest to 0.002ohms are L7410 @ 4.8ohms, L7420 @ 4.9ohms and L7430 @ 4.9ohms. L7210-7210 are both at 10ohms. The rest are 60ohms on a couple and Kohms or Mohms to GND

    820-00875 dead short on PPBUS_G3H_CPU

Hi I have an 00875 board with an exploded C7222. Removed the capacitor and others around it on PPBUS_G3H_CPU. PPBUS_G3H_CPU is still shorting to ground with them removed but I can't locate the short anywhere. Its 0.000v on diode mode. I've tried a little voltage an some alcohol to see if...

820-00165 liquid, no fan spin but orange light [solved]

Swapped out LP8550. (looking at the state of the LVDS connector originally, I'm not surprised it was dead) now works perfectly. As ever @2informaticos thank you for your help.
